The Parador of Caceres is very dark and gloomy so we escaped into the sunlight and went for a walk around the old city. Not far away is the bar/restaurant Puertas de Merida and attracted by the misting sprays they have installed under the sunshade, we ordered some beers and some Jamon de bellota. It was so good that we then ordered another plate. It was so good that we decided to forego dinner at the parador and went back and had another platefull, before ordering our two raciones each (now 12€) My duck salad was very good, but my husband's carpaccio had,we felt, too much oil on it.My quail was good as was his lasagne, although the tomato sauce was a bit sweet. The bread is delicious as is the local red wine.Good food and good value.

Located in the old town on a narrow street . The menu ,which was also in English, allowed 2 dishes for 10 euros. Several of the dishes we wanted were not available which was disappointing.
The 3 out of the 4 dishes we ended up with were small but tasty the 4th was totally over cooked . You may say Tapas is small but our experience elsewhere was not the case For the price we had better food and larger portions.

We stumbled across this little tapas bar while walking in the old town for a beer. Then we looked at the menu and were very relieved to find out they had a translation 'book' for the Spanish into numerous other languages!!!
Excellent value for money, beautifully presented and DELICIOUS food!
The beef and anchovy salad and the wild boar stew were our favorites. The desert cake was the best I had in Spain!!!

Friendly and very good quality food. Excellent choice and value for money Very friendly waitress that offered non Spanish speaking partner an English menu which also had other European languages.

We came here as our original TripAdvisor restaurant was closed. It was right in the nick of time, as the place is very small (seats about 30). We ordered a variety of reasonably priced tapas, a nice bottle of wine, and had a lovely evening. Really nothing fancy, just a very nice restaurant with good food, good service, and a nice selection of wines as well. All reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?
