Overall, a very positive experience at this hotel. The staff were most helpful from the staff at check-in to the management, to the cleaning staff, everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately, the room we booked was for a double and ended up with two singles, but I know we were warned this may be the case subject to availability and it wasn't the worst. In terms of the other reviews on this site regarding a sewage smell, we did experience this to a very mild degree. It only occurred while the shower was running and the smell didn't remain for long, it wasn't a big issue.

The view from this hotel of the Cathedral is simply fantastic! Especially if you visit the rooftop terrace! And it is absolutely perfect in terms of location. A five minute walk will get you right to the centre of town! You will undoubtedly find a more luxurious stay in Tryp Hotel or Hotel Sherry park for example but if looking for a very nice hotel at a most reasonable price and in a fantastic location then you will not go wrong here! Would recommend to friends.

Room Tip: Room 312 offers beautiful views of the Cathedral (however two single beds in our case)

Not up to standard and hard to find as the sign is placed some 20 meters above the entrance. The rooms are clean and very small. Breakfast not up standard however the staff was very friendly and helpful during our staying. Good location in the center of Jerez de la Frontera.

Such a shame that this Well Placed Hotel is Not up to a Great Standard... the Staff are Lovely, Very Friendly and Helpful... The Hotel is 'Very Tired' and in dire need of a Major ReVamp.... The Cleanliness is Not up to the usual Spanish Standard, but that said it is not terrible... The Beds are really comfortable and plenty of Hot water... If you want an 'experience' of the 18th century.. try Room 313... The Bath/Shower which is actually in the Bedroom has a Curtain like a Parrot has over his cage at night.... All this negativity.. it is Not too bad for a couple of nights, but with a little thought could be so much better.... I hate giving bad reviews, but you have to be truthful.... It is Not at all expensive to stay here though..

We found the hotel very central and convenient for going round Jerez
Quite a quirky hotel however the detail let it down.
Not well cleaned, strange shower in a bath with an ill fitting curtain.
It was relatively cheap, with some tender loving care could be a first class establishment.
The lift is a bit ancient with a mind of its own stopping between floors on a couple of occasions

I booked this hotel back in March - having checked out the reviews on TA, which were generally favourable. I was, therefore, worried to see some very recent unfavourable reviews. However, as the saying goes 'one man's meat is another man's poison'. Maybe the hotel acted on the reviews and sorted everything out, or some complaints were unjustified. Bear in mind that the Spanish rating system is different to the UK or Irish system, so one should not assume that a 4-star here is the same as a 4-star in London, so facilities and infrastructure will be different and may not be up to one's expectations. However, we (two couples) had no complaints. The hotel is in a great location - right across the road from the Cathedral and a short walk from most of the attractions of Jerez. Being an old building, there were quirky things like sloping floors, but we had large comfortable rooms, good bathrooms and everything worked. The breakfast was very good and very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful and gave us good tips at to where to eat and what to see.
If you arrive by car, parking is limited - while the Hotel will provide parking at a fee, you have to book in advance. The alternative (pointed out by the staff) is the free parking on the street a few hundred metres away - beside the back wall of the Tio Pepe Bodega.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms seem to be larger, with very high ceilings.
