We stayed at the at the Florida for 4 nights. On arrival we were quite surprised at how highly rated this hotel was. However, we soon realised that there isn't a great choice of hotels in Tossa. It's been a well-established resort since the 50s with no room for expansion so most of the hotels seem outdated. This makes the resort lovely and quaint with a fabulous old town, but it looks like the hotels are stuck in a time-warp and not really up to modern standards.
Part of me feels bad for writing this about the Florida, as the staff were all lovely and very accommodating. Purely based on that, the hotel would rate 5-stars. The hotel is in a great location, only a few minutes walk from the old town. The exterior, although dated, was clean and well kept. The design of the public areas of the hotel have been brought up to date and the little bar downstairs (also the breakfast area and the breakfast was good) was nice and comfortable. It is the bedroom, which lets the hotel down unfortunately. It was very small with 2 single beds pushed together, which wasn't very comfortable. The balcony was also small and overlooking a car park (rooms on the other side would have overlooked the street, which would have been an improvement). All the furniture was very old-fashioned. The same goes for the bathroom, which again was very small with barely any space to put our toiletries. There was no surface area anywhere to prepare any food (we were b&b only) and no tea/coffee making facilities. Wifi was just about adequate. We managed to take a sneaky peek into a couple of other rooms on our floor and they looked very similar. Due to the age of the hotel, sound insulation was non-existent, which meant we could hear every noise from the adjacent rooms. Best not to go into any details! It's a shame. I know there's nothing much can be done about the size of the rooms at the hotel, but if they were a bit more up-to-date and the space better thought out, it would have improved our impression of the Florida no end. Having said that, from what we saw of other hotels in Tossa de Mar, if you do want to stay there, the Florida is probably one of the better hotels. Not cheap though. €105 per night plus city tax. At the current poor exchange rate, we have stayed in luxury hotels for less than that.

For a 3 star this is a brilliant little hotel situated close to the beach and with a fantastic little supermarket right opposite.
The staff are brilliant and the breakfast is great with first class service.
Rooms are standard nothing special but ok and do the job but everything else about this great little place is brilliant.
Hot tubs on the roof are great and I loved the bar area with the outdoor seating next to the road, nothing better than after a challenging day on the beach just sitting back and having a beer watching the world go by.
I will definitely return next year and will be look forward to it massively.
Tip book direct and save a few quid.

What stands out most for this hotel is the level of service. They were accommodating, friendly, helpful and available if needed. The location is also fantastic: very close to the action, but far enough away to be calm and safe. The room was clean and well appointed and the street-facing balconies were very nice to sit and enjoy a glass of vin. Thank you for the wonderful stay!!

Stayed at the Florida Hotel for 10 nights in July and August. Esther and Merce are excellent and so welcoming and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and spotless, with balconies. The breakfast are continental with a great varied choice, cooked breakfast can be ordered. We last stayed here 11 years ago and it was like going home. The beach is a 2 minute walk away and Tossa de Mar is a lovely small town with excellent choice of shops.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel overlook part of the town towards the beach

This hotel is just perfect. We arrived here after very bad night in another hotel, so we were tired and the staff was sooo nice and helpful. The rooms are great, with the air conditioner and big terrace. The rooftop relax zone is just perfect and it's right next to the beach and the board walk. Thank you again :)
