Having researched this resort on both TripAdvisor and also Interval International we booked a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment. We arrived reasonably late and we're checked in very efficiently. We had booked via booking.com on arrival we paid the accommodation costs for our 2 week stay.

On getting to our apartment on the 5th floor as promised by email we were impressed! Inside we found a large lounge with open plan kitchen. The bedrooms were of a good size. The master bedroom with a king (made of 2 singles) and a massive en-suite bathroom. The en-suite has twin sinks, bidet, toilet, large shower cubicle plus a whirlpool bath.

The second bedroom had twin single beds, the second bathroom was adjacent. This bathroom was smaller but had twin sinks, toilet, whirlpool bath with an over bath shower.

Each bedroom and the lounge had a small (22 inch?) TV, with limited international channels. A number of British channels including BBC1 were available.

In addition to the sofa and dining table in the lounge, the massive balcony offered more places to sit. The massive L shaped balcony included our own sauna and Jacuzzi. The balcony was around 30m long and 12m wide at it’s largest point. There was an extra dining table and 6 chairs on the balcony plus 4 sun beds on the balcony.

On one side the balcony overlooked the resort, on the other it overlooked a car park, motorway and shopping centre. Whilst you could hear traffic noise on the balcony, there was little noise in the room. You could not hear the road once you were in the resort.

Overall the apartment was impressive, minor negatives included only a microwave (no oven), no washing machine/dryer and no dishwasher. The maids though did all the washing up for you! A laundry room with 3 washing machines and 3 dryers was available free of charge in the laundry.

We found the beds comfortable but my wife found the pillows too hard, as we had arrived quite late we didn't do anything about the pillows until the next morning. On requesting softer pillows at reception, they were brought to our room within 5 minutes.

There is a daily maid service, however there is no maid service on Sundays. Each day we had the beds made, towels changed, washing up done for us by the maid. Pool towels were provided and these could be exchanged for clean ones on Tuesday and Friday. On your last day you could keep the pool towels after you had checked out, if you were staying on the resort until your departure.

The restaurant we felt was very poor, they offer a daily breakfast and dinner service (buffet) with an option to stay half board. We wanted to eat at other restaurants so did not do half board. We were glad we did have the half board option, we ate in the restaurant on one of their signature nights, the BBQ night. We were very disappointed with the food quality and selection. The food from the pool bar was superior! We had lunch at the pool bar a few times, they had the usual pool bar food such as burgers, fries, pizzas, club sandwich, etc. We found the pool bar food quite reasonable.

We used the pool bar each day during one of the 2 daily Happy Hours when selected drinks were 2 for 1. This included a selection of beers, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks. There is also a piano bar open in the evening. Take Away pizzas are available from both the restaurant and pool bar.

There is a small shop on site, which sells essentials, there is a Spar about 5 minutes walk away and a HiperDino supermarket which is located in the El Tablero shopping centre. 15 minute walk or less than 5 minutes by car.

The resort has an official rating of 3 stars, it however does feel it should be a 4 star resort. It was originally a 5 Star according to some timeshare owners on the resort. It has lost some stars over time. I think that the resort should consider working towards a formal 4 star rating. Perhaps offering room service, a laundry service, more entertainment my activities, etc.

This is a Timeshare resort, but not attempt was made to sell us or even speak to us about a Timeshare.

The air conditioning within the apartments is only available in August and September, which was OK as we were there in August. However as I have a medical condition that requires me to sleep in a chilled room at around 19c, I would struggle to visit the resort in the other months of the year unfortunately.

We hired a car for our holiday in Maspalomas, in hindsight this wasn’t necessary as the cost of taxis to get around were so cheap. We only visited Playa de Ingles once, it wasn’t our kind of place. We spent a lot of evenings in Meloneras, where there are a number of good quality restaurants, which was only a 5€ taxi ride away. Similarly the Maspalomas beach is also a 5€ taxi ride away.

We would certainly return to Palm Oasis in the future, we thought the resort was excellent and the positives far outweighed the negatives.

Room Tip: High Floor in main block, A502 excellent

Dear guest,

What a wonderful reading. It’s been a pleasure to see over how you experienced the resort and our hotel in general.

It’s even a big honor to know that you see us as a four star hotel and we appreciate a lot your advice on how to be that and even more.

We expect you again in some near future,

Until then,

Yours sincerely

It was built to be a 5 stars hotel... So, it's 3 stars are superb!
It has nice gardens, pools, tenis court, mini golf, gym, table tenis, pool... And intnet everywhere!
The hotel takes cleanliness very seriously and so, the apartments, gardens... all other places are allways very clean.
The only thing I did not like was the car parking: too small and insuficient.
I'll be back soon

Room Tip: Clean and spacious

We travelled as a young family with our 11 month old boy, we booked a studio and asked for a cot in the room which they happily did along with a high chair which was great as we had bought his bumbo chair.

The room is spacious and brilliant kitchen and bathroom area, my son loved crawling around and exploring and the room seemed quite safe for him.

My only gripe with the room is the beds and pillows are a killer on my back, we are for ten days and I've so far not had one nights good sleep, they could do with upgrading the mattresses and pillows I have had to use three.

There is a free laundry service that you use yourself, which is fab as our little boy had a few accidents in his sleep sack.

The sun bed reservation situation is a bit of a joke but there is not much you can do it's the same everywhere you go!

Also access with a buggy isn't great there is a ramp outside the door to the pool but then a set of stairs so you have to wheel across the other side of the patio to get to the ramp massive design fault... Don't understand why there are so many steps!!!

I will defiantly book to come back here again..prob when little one is. Bit older.

Very disappointed about the way the sun beds are managed. People put their towels out early and don't return for hours. This is meant to be managed by the pool staff but obviously not. If you complain to reception they say it's not their problem it's down to the pool staff and therefore nothing has happens. The evening restaurant has a buffet which looks like it's been standing there all evening. Apart from the receptionist staff are unfriendly. You have to pay to use the safe in the room which seems bit tight.
