This was our six time staying at the hotel but the first time I was in Malta on business. Libby from Guest relations was extremely helpful, friendly and professional and made sure that my room had excellent WIFI, as I was working remotely, and also managed to provide a new room at short notice when there was problems with the WIFI.
The room was modern and had an extra comfortable bed and also had an empty fridge in the room which was very helpful.
Breakfasts were good but got a bit monotonous as the choice was limited. It is a served buffet due to COVID and although the queues were quite long on the first couple of days, Daniel, the F&B Manager put more staff on and sorted it out for the rest of the holiday to make it a more enjoyable experience.
The only disappointment was that the lounge did not open till night time so you could not sit there and have a coffee or a drink during the day.

Room tip: Make sure you have a room with a garden view as they are much quieter and have lovely views over the pool and side sea views.

Dear B3482XDmarkl

Primarily . I thank you for returning to the Maritim Antonine Hotel and for taking a moment to share your experience here on Tripadvisor.

I am pleased that again you enjoyed our hotel and its facilities, but of course genuinely saddened that your stay with us may have been marred by the necessity to move rooms.

Your very constructive remarks regarding the La Mirage were relayed for due attention and we are happy to confirm that we have since been allowed to reopen with the present occupancy.

Once again we thank you for your warm review and look forward to your return.

In the meantime we wish you and your family an happy festive season

Kind regards

Well priced hotel considering the options. Like most hotel staff in Malta. Staff are very poorly trained and hotel receptionist is not considered a vocation. The reception desk failed to point out to us the the bus service only accepted credit cards affer giving us coins to pay for the bus. A wonderful waiter whispered to us that the management in the Hotel were hopeless but they had repeatedly been told not to allow balcony tables to be occupied by those only having a drink reserving these tables for diners. This resulted in "ghosts" having all the best tables each night.

Dear 167jes

I would like to thank you for choosing to stay at the Maritim Antonine Hotel during your visit to Malta and for taking a few moments to share your experience with us .

Where we pleased that you enjoyed many aspects of your stay, we also genuinely value all feedback from our guests ,as this allows us to learn from and address issues that have arisen, continue to ensure that our facilities are meeting our guest’s requirements and investigate areas for improvement.

The above being said , for the benefit of other online viewers I must respectfully highlight that there appears to be some confusion with your bus journey . As a regular bus user, I can confidently confirm that the cost is 1.50 euro per journey ( 2. 00 euro in high season ). Due to covid restrictions the exact money is required as they can not give change. Alternative options are to pay any contactless bank card or prepaid bus cards which can be purchased locally. However, these cards start from a minimum of 12 journeys so not always beneficial for short stay guests. So where I am sure you witnessed people using some cards, many would still prefer and are able to pay by cash.

With regards to other issues raised you have my my assurance that your comments and details of your stay have been relayed to relevant departments so that the matters be given our full attention.

Once again I thank you for your review and hope that you are able to return very soon

Kind regards

Me my father & Uncle stayed here for 3 nights while visiting my late Grandfathers WW2 base for a memorial.

So first off the good points .
The hotel is well situated in the village of Mellieha within close reach of the bay which has a huge sandy beach.... YES a sandy beach on Malta, unfortunately many clueless people assume Malta doesn't have any sandy beaches which it does .

The reception area & restaurants/Bars are well presented and clean.
Our room on the 4th floor was spacious clean & well presented with a bay/sea view & included a decent safe, Fridge, Hairdryer, Air conditioning & a good quality Flat Screen smart TV .
Top that with clean fluffy white towels & an awesome shower/Bath which was VERY powerful made for a great all round room experience plus a bonus....the mattresses were comfy.
Due to good ole Rona the Hotel is operating the main restaurant for evening meals & the internal hotel restaurant for breakfasts which were both great quality even if you were not able to load your plate up yourself this due to staff getting the food for you.
Evening meal & breakfast food choices were great & the quality of the evening meal food was way above the usual hotel standard !!.

Now for what really is the only negative point about the hotel.

The hotel is situated on both sides of the main street in Mellieha which means you can either access the sides by crossing the road or via the underground tunnel which is where things get a tad smelly.
Now due to the underground tunnel being below the road & buildings there is a quite strong smell of sewerage which is not great but once in the lift & back up to a floor it disappears.
Coming from a builders family background i can say with a fair amount of certainty that this is due to a lack of ventilation or air being pushed through these lower corridors so the air is quite stagnant down there.

All in all this hotel is great for a holiday on the island of Malta and lets be honest is situated in the best part of the island .
With a few little changes i.e. the smell it would be perfect and to be totally honest we will stay again in the future,

This was my 35th + stay on the Island

Room tip: rooms 416 516 616 all have main street & bay views
