We booked standard room with sea view. Room 560, huge room with two balconies. Mini bar with room to put a few drinks in yourself. Breakfast was buffet and plentiful, couldn't wish for more. We were half board evening meals once again buffet excellent. All in all an excellent stay. Great but you need a seaview as the boats going in and out is a sight with a drink on the balcony is a highlight. Its 2 minutes from the ferry. The car park in free. Its a great base to see Gozo. There is no bars etc in the village behind the hotel, but go down the hill in front of the hotel there are a few bars and eateries, enough to fullfill your needs. A great hotel. The pool is on the rooftop and has ample loungers and space. The only thing I would say is that the tiles around the pool are loose in places, this is due to the type of system that is there. The tiles are on a plastic template type so any excess waters drains away. Not an ideal way but be careful.

Room Tip: Seaview is a must, room 560 you will be happy!

The hotel has, as others have described, a somewhat old-fashioned feel (not necessarily a bad thing!) and the staff, especially the breakfast restaurant team are excellent. Positioned above the busy ferry harbour, there is always something to look at, however, the inevitable traffic noise can be a disturbance to relaxation on the good sized balcony that we had. Nothing that the hotel can do about this feature but be aware that it exists. The soundproofing of the windows is super as is the outstanding air conditioning which is quiet and also very effective.
Booking in was easy with a very welcoming young lady managing the process and all of the staff conducted themselves and their duties with enthusiasm. There are some areas that would benefit from attention such as the bathroom which needs to be freshened up and also the menu for evening meals, in particular for vegetarians who were offered omelettes on two successive days as the main.
Overall this is a good hotel with some excellent features - just a few elements to work on.

We stayed for three nights in September and had a great experience.
The BBQ on the roof terrace was lovely and great musical entertainment there.
Our 'standard' room was huge with two balconies, comfy bed and we were able to make use of the fridge for our own things.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The spa was very nice and I had a manicure and pedicure which were both great. The hotel is currently building the indoor pool and new fitness suite which will be a brilliant addition.
We got a free lift down the road to catch the ferry and there were lots of staff around to help, especially at mealtimes.
The hotel decor is pretty dated - it wouldn't have looked out of place in 1970! But it's very clean and comfortable.
My only gripe was that the bread at breakfast (for making toast etc) and at dinner was pretty stale - probably because of it being out in baskets and same goes for the cereal.
However, that's literally my only negative comment and we had a really lovely time here, especially watching the thunder and rain from our balcony!

Hotel Grand has a somewhat out-dated look and feel. This also applies on the excellent service. They know what they're doing and they are good at it. No question remains unanswered, no request denied. It almost feels like you've gone back in time a little. Even though the interior is old-fashioned, the perfect service makes up for it.

We were four couples who decided to spend three nights at this wonderfull hotel situated above the Mgarr harbour in beautifull Gozo. The rooms where quite comfortable, clean and very spaces. The breakfast was abondand and it was a buffet type. Parking was at the hotel. The pool area was large with a magnificant view.Service was excellent and the staff were well educated and helpfull. Irecommend this hotel to any one who would like to spent some time in Gozo.
