David the proprietor only gives himself four stars on his business card. He deserves far more. From the moment he answered the door of this quaint property we felt welcomed. His genuine caring attitude and attention to detail made this a wonderful experience. This is without a doubt a hidden treasure. Book early as I’m certain his limited number of rooms fill fast.

Why, you ask;

1. David, the son of the owner, picked us up from Wallhouses which is on our Hadrian’s Wall walk. Very obliging, he just said call him when we got to the pick up point and he would come and get us ( the itinerary suggests you call in the morning and lock in the pick up time ).

2. The room and the guest house was very clean and the best bed we have sleep in on the walk ( not that the others were bad, but this bed was super ). Plenty of room with tea/coffee facilities and nice biscuits. Lovely clean bedding.

3. The breakfast was very extensive, fresh fruit had been cut and there was a wide range of cereals and hot breakfast choices.

4. David had booked us in ( following an earlier email request ) for dinner at the Wood Oven, which was next door, and we had excellent pizzas there.

5. David is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. He dropped us off back on the walk path for our continuing walk.

We absolutely recommend this accommodation.

We spent a very warm and comfortable night in this delightful B&B.
David is a kind, friendly and thoughtful host who cooked us a delicious breakfast the next morning.
There are only 3 rooms upstairs and they are all quiet, very comfortably furnished and lovingly decorated with homely touches. David and his dad John live downstairs making this place feel like a real home where you are warmly welcomed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here - highly recommended!

David and his Dad John are the most generous and kindest Hosts ever , made me feel
very welcome , can't thank them enough , especially with me been a Solo Traveller .

The Bed and Breakfast is ideally located , approximately 10 mins walk from the Train Station .
I was allocated a lovely room , very spacious and comfortable with an Ensuite Shower Room .

There is also a Communal Bathroom with a large Bath which is ideal if you want a nice long soak after a day's walking .

What can I say about the Breakfast , great choice ie Cereal , Yoghurts , fresh Orange followed by a choice of hot food and plentiful supply of Coffee, Tea , Toast etc

I would not hesitate to recommend this Bed and Breakfast , you will certainly not be disappointed .

Look forward to another visit next year
