The Lodge is very much geared around game drives, which happen regularly. We saw 4 of the Big 5 at very close quarters ! Our Game Ranger Duane deserves special mention - passionate about his job, and highly knowledgeable. Accomodation so-so, a bit tired, and needs an upgrade soon - not 4 star. Food good, service reasonable. No chairs on the patios of each unit ? C'mon !
Surprise dinner in the bush was very cool.
Tip - dress warmly for the game drives in the winter months ! It can get VERY cold.

Excellent safari lodge and fabulous staff.

We were there for 3 nights (6 Safaris) in a large family group (14 adults 11 children).

Staff were all very welcoming and accommodating for adults and children. Our room was so spacious and comfortable and food amazing and varied.

Safari trips were fantastic and our guide Jimmy was very knowledgeable and did a wonderful job to find all the animals and went out of his way to accomodate our requests. He even worked hard during his “break time” between morning and afternoon safaris to track down all 6 lions and was able to take us straight to them on our afternoon safari. We can’t thank you enough Jimmy, you go the extra mile to ensure we got the full African experience. Seeing all those animals was amazing. Thanks Jimmy

Also a special mention to the waiter that tendered to us for most of the time. Fanta you were wonderful with the children and also looked after us adults very well too.

We received a warm welcome and was told that room 232 would be ours for the next 2 nights. The room was more than spacious. Bed was comfortable, as was the chairs to relax in the lounge area, which was in the same space as the bedroom. Tea, coffee, milk and kettle provided. The bathroom had a massive oval bath with a shower definitely made for two. The room was clean. Only downfall is that if you have bad knees there are pretty steep stairs to climb up. The room is a reasonable distance from the dining area where the dinner etc is served. The buffet breakfast was more than enough to fill you as well as a good choice. The only complaint with the food is that the roast beef was pretty tough. I cant say that the staff was over friendly in the food area. Our game driver was Cyrano Padiachi which was really great. He would stop all over and explain trees, the animals which we saw and the trackings. We got to see elephants, zebras, lions, warthogs, giraffe, hippos etc. So we were more than satisfied with our views on animals. There is a pool. We sat there while waiting for our spa treatment. I would not recommend the spa. We had a specific time, but when we got there the door was locked. Even though we banged on the door no one responded until later, which was not our scheduled time. I had an eyelash tint, but ended up with burnt eyes and definitely no tint. Very unprofessional, The towel was not changed and was damp. No nice scent smell. I had a facial as well, which was OK. I have had better. The safe in the room was also faulty. We had to get the supervisor to open it. Also do not use the dirt road to get to the Lodge. Take the Bela Bela way through the Warm Baths to get to the Lodge. Our GPS led us through the dirt road which was very bad as it had rained and our car was not up to the mud.

Room Tip: Room 232 - Comfortable and spacious

High quality lodge with good food. The highlight is the horseback safari. This is a must allows you to get up close to animals. Our guide Moses had an encyclopedic knowledge of plants. You have to book your game viewing ahead of your arrival as they do not allow you to use your own cars for game viewing. Skip the night game drive very few night animals to see.

The hospitality at this lodge is not up to standard.
The receptionist at the lodge as well as at timeshare reception were both extremely unfriendly and when my son asked for help they just brushed him off because he was a kid! This is unacceptable!
Our one room smelt like cat wee and it was disgusting!
Definitely won’t be going back ever again.
