We visited this area when we were staying in a hotel in Khao Lak. It was a 10 - 15 minute drive away. On the south side of the peninsular you have Coral beach and on the northern side a much longer bay that seems to be known as Coconut beach then White beach. On the very end of the peninsular the shore line is made up of washed up coral and there if a large lagoon on the north side. We noticed quite a few wading birds here and some locals fishing with a long net that was being dragged through the water is the tide went out. Well worth a short detour if you are visiting one of the beaches

There is something about this place that keeps drawing me back ,it is so peaceful yet so sad to see all the dead coral in some places it is 6 feet high .
The shape has changed dramatically over the last year it looks as if the dead coral is making its own island
You can spend 1 hour here or 3 or 4 and not see a soul, better bring drinks with you as the nearby bar is not always open , it is an excellent place to watch the sunset
My favourite place in khao Lak

Pakarang Cape: a place to visit!
We found is very quiet with only 6 other people within 1 km. You can find a lot of seashell and corals (some light shoes or flip-flop recommended!) and a great view for many km around, especially if you go there at low-sea time to walk more "into" the sea ;)
A sunset romantic moment can be, also. Left side view over nice lighted beaches.
Is the border between Khao Lak busy beaches, plenty with seaside resorts with private beach sections, and a 6-7km long beach strip with only about 10 resorts and 15 bars/bistros: Coconut Beach, Ao Thong = White Sand Beach, Pak Weep Beach.
We start this 3 beaches 1 day walk & swim trip here, it was a challange beach walk between trees and rocks to arrive to Coconut Beach. But affordable.
