We visited as a group of 18 for lunch after touring the Konstaninovsky Palace. The hotel is very grand with no apparent expense spared in the decor. The restaurant is smart, but although we appeared to be the only party there the food was at best average. As elsewhere in Russia diners are watched like hawks, and plates removed as soon as they think you have finished (even if you hadn't) so four courses took barely 40 minutes. A request for a glass of wine to accompany the meal was met with a blank and somewhat aggressive "No". The cake dessert was somewhat stodgy. Not the greatest of meals, sadly, and certainly it did not match the grand surroundings.

Nice place very close to Costantin Palace but horrible food and service.
Laundry is not giving back your dress until you didn't pay it in cash.
I dirtied my sheets with tea and they did not changed it for 3 days.
No chance to have different pillow or to change towel daily.
Credit card is needed for all including just to open the frigobar.
And all is fu.king expensive, much more then the quality of the services.
Better to stay somewhere else in town and pay 1000 rubles to a taxi to go to visit Costantin Palace

Beautiful hotel built on grounds of the Konstantin Palace. The landscaping and grounds of the hotel are stunning. We stayed in a one-bedroom Junior Suite which was very spacious and nice. The front desk and the staff is very helpful and nice. A definite "must" to visit.

A truly beautiful hotel adjacent to a renovated palace that Putin uses for all official international conferences, i.e. G20.
Designed to match the style of the palace, rooms were spacious as were the baths.
Hotel had heated indoor pool, small, billiard room fully equipped, gym and spa facilities. Public areas were elegant and well kept.
Two problems I should mention.
1. Very few staff new English well enough to speak with.
2. it is an hours drive from the center of the city.

Rooms were beautifully kept and cleaned each day with new linens. Price was very reasonable (their currency is weak). Short drive to shopping mall and 24 hour supermarket that has everything, but I mean EVERYTHING you could possibly need.

Would definitely go back if I decide to visit St. Petersburg again.

I have some mixed feelings about the hotel and I do not think I will ever be back.

LOCATION
First of all - hotel is located around 45-60 minutes drive to the st. Petersurg' downtown. This if you are looking for a base for exploring the city - than try someting more central. On the other hand it is quite conveniently located for Peterhof and Łomonosow which is important if you travel east of St. P. It is in general on the Gulf of Finland so there is nice walking paths in the area.

ROOM
We have chosen some mid-range room and it was quite OK in terms of size and park view was nice. There were several small issues such as just 3 hangers for 2 adults, empty fridge and overall feeling that the room is quite dated and requires renovation.

RECEPTION
Ladies in the reception were very helpful and very friendly. We had a few requests and were taken with the smile and proceeded immediately. All staff members that we had a contact with spoke good English.

Breakfast is just OK.

In principle the wekest point is that you need a long time to get to St.P. well, we knew that so of course, we have accepted this upfront and there was no surprise on site. This is just something that you need to ba ware of before considering Baltic Star

Room Tip: as for the room with the park view
