Great location as it's right across Hwy 1 from a beautiful beach within easy access. The campground itself is very well maintained, especially for the amount the people that were there when we stayed. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and the sites were clean. Reserve early because the sites fill up quickly, especially on weekends!

Room Tip: Book early because it fills up quickly!

Thank for the nice rangers we got a small place for our tent, despite the "campground full" sign was on. We arrived at night and it would have been very inconvenient to look for another place in the dark. Reservation is possible only 8 days in advance.
The campground is within walking distance to the sandy beach, however note that the water is freezing cold (in September ). The toilet facilities were clean, there were no showers, but water faucets nearby.
It was not a noisy place when you hear other campers listening to football match in the radio, or having a loud party-time. It was more of a calm, quiet experience, with birds and ocean breeze (and some highway noise though)

Above average amount of room between campsites with grassy areas for kids to play in. Poison Oak everywhere on outskirts of sites. Literally everywhere! Stay on trails even down to Sand Dollar beach. Bathrooms open on some days and porta potties on the other. The porta potties do not get emptied often enough. One day they were close to overfilling. Hosts were pleasant and helpful. Quiet at night. Many families here so expect noisy kids playing during the day. Some sites are not level and big RVs/trailers need to check which sites they can fit into. Short walk to an incredible beach. 45 minutes North of Hearst Castle.

We camped at Plaskett Creek last week. We found this to be an terrific camp ground. There is lots of space between sites. The mix of just enough sun and LOTS of shade was perfect. The sites that back to the green spaces are ideal for families (43, 29, 27). There were lots of kids playing from sun up to sun down in a large area that was easy for parent supervision. It is located just across HWY1 from Sand Dollar Beach. We were blessed with very sunny days with great weather and beautiful sunsets. No showers....and no flush toilets during the drought, other wise....would be a 5! Plan your activities and hikes before you arrive....cell service is not readily available all through out Big Sur.

Nice location with wide open space throughout the park....loved the fact we were not on top of one another. Fun to have a camp fire and not worry about the neighbor right next to us. Draw back would be parking the rv...tough to maneuver into the parking spot with all the trees. Across the road is Sand Dollar Beach. Beautiful beach....long hike down with moderate hike back up. Took great pictures.

Room Tip: View the map of the campground and choose wisely
