Our last 2 nights on our trip were at El Habana, located off the beaten track but only about a 30 minute walk into Llanes. Very friendly and well run hotel with the owner on hand during our stay, we stayed in Room 1 on the ground floor with its own terrace leading to the delightful gardens which have been loved by the owner and helpers over the years. Very good choice of hot and cold breakfast available every day.

Really enjoyed our stay here, the room was lovely with its own terrace and we had dinner there which was excellent. The gardens are lovely and it is well placed to explore the area and the staff and owner were really really helpful and very charming

Spacious twin bedroom overlooking the lovely gardens and backdrop of Picos de Europe. Comfortable beds and quality bed linen, very clean..... Lovely well cared for and beautifully furnished hotel, rural but close to A-8.
Good restaurant and breakfast. Stunning gardens....
Friendly and welcoming owner.
Icing on the cake would be Air Conditioning (or perhaps fans) in the room, as hotel information book advises to close windows at night due to mosquitos (spray is or can be provided)! It was exceptionally hot during our stay!!

Thank you for your nice comments. I am sorry that your experience was not as pleasant as expected because of the heat. At LLanes the average temperature in August is 25 degrees whereas this year the temperature has risen to 28 and even 32 degrees on the 15th during the day and 19-20 degrees at night.
This pleasant weather makes that only by opening the window the room temperature is comfortable enough without any devices that in Asturias are rarely installed (at least up till now).
Regarding the advice of the management related to the window’s closing there must have been an unfortunate misunderstanding because the information folder available at the room says: “Please don’t leave windows open when you leave the room. Fly spray has been placed in the cupboard, and electric mosquito repellent is working in the bathroom. In case you run out of them please contact Reception”.
Thank you again.

The hotel is relatively new (late 90's) but built in a traditional Spanish style. It is small and welcoming. The owner is an interesting character who works hard to meet his guests needs. The rooms are large and comfortable, furnished in an Indian style. The garden is huge, and is a real feature of this hotel. There is a pool in the grounds, but it rained most of the time we were there. The overall feeling is one of being a house-guest rather than a customer. The food is fairly simple, but very well cooked and the staff are very friendly, especially Marta who seemed to be everywhere at once.

Room Tip: We had a suite, which was huge

We spent two nights at El Habana in May and thoroughly enjoyed our stay: welcomed by a smiling young woman, cared for by the host and spoiled by the excellent kitchen both morning and evening. We had a ground floor room with a small terrace that lead straight out into the fantastic park that the hosts have been creating since the mid 90ies. It is a wonderful place to walk, to sit, to explore and just to wander around inhaling the fragrances, what a joy. Other hotels may be nice but this is genuinely wonderful: apart from the park it has terraces, a deep covered one with comfortable lounge furniture, and one in the open air with white iron furniture, the ground floor has a small bar, a lounge cum library with a fireplace and comfortable furniture for a leisurely browsing of the books, telling the story of the travels of our hosts. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully arranged with - especially - Indian hard wood furniture, this is a place without the slightest hint of IKEA, what a bliss.
