What a wonderful place to spend an hour or so. Fantastic work being done by kind and caring animal lovers. Definitely worth a visit
My son wanted to visit so we made time on our last day in Cape Town. I wasn't really expecting much tbh. The facility is SPOTLESS and there is no smell at all which just shows the level of care that goes into this centre. We had a tour given by a really nice guy (so sorry I didn't catch your name) he asked loads of questions of us which made the tour more interesting, it really was good fun. The hour flew by. I'm so glad that we went, and thank you for the incredible work you all do with SANCCOB.
We made a trip around Table mountain and one of the places we visited was Sanccob. It was quite nice. The penguins are used to people so you can get quite close, Beautifull view.
what a great and wonderfull experience for my whole family and how touching when you see the passion that the team at SANCCOB has for the wonderful jonb they are doing. My kids learned and a lot about penguins a lot of fun as well.Great place take yor family to.
This is where it all started and and where it all still is happening. Sanccob now has wonderful new facilities and it's fantastic. You get to see the home pen birds enjoying a swim, nesting, stealing nest material from each other and just being penguins. They also have a couple of cormorants staying in the home pen and a brand new aviary. In between the African penguins you can spot three Rockhopper penguins as well. Easy to recognize because of their yellow crests. While you are there you will see dedicated staff caring for these birds. The African penguin is endangered so by visiting Sanccob you not only get to see these funny creatures but you're also helping towards saving the species in the wild as Sanccob's main aim is to rescues, rehabilitate and release the birds. Should be on your bucket list when visiting Cape Town (and you can combine it with a trip to Bloubergstrand for the most amazing view of Table Mountain...).
We loved the passion and commitment that this organization displays towards saving penguins and other seabirds! The small facility provides an intimate engagement with the birds, especially the penguins who reside on-site. Debbie was wonderful and inspired me to “adopt” a young penguin, which will remain at SANCCOB until he can (hopefully) be returned into the wild.
Great organization with a worthwhile mission and tourist experience for all animal lovers!
