We were recommended to Ristorante Da Aurelio by a very helpful service professional at the Rosapetra Spa Resort (also fabulous!) The chefs know each other and it was wonderful to have one great chef recommend another chef...who also turned out to be great! The restaurant is a drive out of Cortina but well, well, worth it. This was a fine culinary experience from beginning to end with Chef Luigi table side to explain the night's offerings and to help us make our selections. The restaurant has recently been renovated (with more experiences to come) and is beautiful. The environment is casual and comfortable and the staff is eager, helpful and accommodating. The food is locally sourced, much from Chef Luigi's garden - he and his family live upstairs. A dining experience at Ristorante Da Aurelio is the direct result of Chef Luigi's labor of love and really...should not be missed!

We decided to eat 4 course menu letting Luis the owner choose. We had 8 different dishes !!!! He brought us portions to share ! It was soooo fantastic !!!!

I stopped here a few days ago for lunch, and honestly I must say that I have never had such a mela. It was more than pleasant, it was marvelous. The food was excellent, and the wines paired them extraordinarily well. I felt really pampered by the staff, and eating on the terrace with warm sun and clear sky all around was blissful. The price was reallyhonest for what I ate.
I will certainly come back and suggest this restaurant to the people interested in a superior gastronomic experience.

This is a place where you would not expect a great restaurant - two hairpin bends down from a 2,300 metres high mountain pass, with a fantastic view of the Dolomites from the terrace, and plenty of sunshine until sunset. You would expect a mountain lodge offering sausage and polenta. But no, here you have great cuisine, ranging from the traditional dishes - albeit modernly interpreted, a bit of nouvelle cuisine - to innovative offerings, including fish (fresh and beautifully prepared) and fantastic desserts. Great choice of wines (in prevalence local or anyway Italian) and warm, informal but professional service. Prices are high but not excessive: every euro is well spent. Fantastic, we'll go again and again.
