The village of San Martino alla Palma is west of Scandicci (west of Firenze). It occupies a small rise overlooking the local countryside...and a view of the gorgeous sunsets. It is family owned, and the family is very gracious and welcoming. The food is classic Tuscan, and surprisingly sophisticated for a country venue. And very reasonable. This, coupled with the charming decor, small size, and location make it well worth the trip. We were staying at a nearby villa, and it was a short walk. We enjoyed cocktails and dinner, while watching a spectacular sunset. Before dinner, drive through the village to the church of San Martino all Palma...they have a wrap around patio that provides a wonderful view of the countryside.
Don't miss it!!!
