Nice to be able to walk so freely around and see the house. The staff everywhere were lovely, happy and helpful. The coffee shop’s lamingtons and cakes were not fresh.

Plenty of parking and then through the security check, so leave metal behind. Take a self guided stroll and taken in the beautiful building with its marble and wood crafted facade. The history is worth looking for, along with the tapestry and paintings. The Senate and Hose of Representives can be viewed from the gallery in each chamber and whilst parliament is sitting is even more informative. There is a bookshop and gift shop just before the exit.

An excellent destination for families visiting the Capital. It shows off many of the beautiful woods that can be found in Australia; tall marble columns that look like eucalyptus trees; a serene contemplation pool; and those with an interest in politics can enjoy visits to the Senate Chamber and to the House of Representatives. It is a lovely and innovative building to explore.

My daughter and I went to visit the Parliament last February after our overnight stay in Canberra to watch a concert.
It provides a free carpark up to a certain hours and you can go on tours provided for free.
Painting from the past PM and the copy of constitution were on the second floor.
There is a cafe on the second floor as well if you want a quick nibble.

Went there for a photo sessions. Once we reached there, found out we can actually have a tour inside and can in fact observe both Senate and House of Reps in motion. Great!

Spent around 30 mins there and it was a good experience. If you are in the area and have time to spare, do visit inside the House of Parliament. Parking at the basement is free for the first two hours.
