Same group of friends, same night of the year for 26 years! Always a highlight of our year and we always go fine dining, eat what we like and drink whatever takes our fancy. Pomegranate did not disappoint. From the entrees of duck ravioli, prawns, balmain bugs and zucchini balls, the night was off to a great start. This was followed by magnificent mains of confit of duck, lamb cutlets, kingfish and waghu beef! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and we all commented on the generous sized portions! (In some years we have spent hundreds on fine dining only to call past Maccas on the way home still hungry! - edges of water and colour of egg plant included) Certainly not the case at Pomegranate! Great food, good portions and friendly service. If I had to be picky, the food came out quickly and we would have preferred more time between courses, which we asked for. At 10.55 we were also told the restaurant was closing at 11! But we were the last ones in the restaurant! A great night and will definitely return.

You're not sitting all over other people, since they manage the space so well. The service was great, between a charming, efficient young lady and a French-speaking Iranian. All in all excellent food, with a particular shout out for the carpaccio. Solid wine list, even better since we didn't like the look of the pairings

I'm struggling to recall a similarly pleasant dining experience anywhere around the world in recent years - I can't.

There were six of us and we selected food form the menu and the specials list. We took our own wine. It is not a cheap establishment but my word you certainly get what you pay for.

The food was superb. And the size of the servings meant that you actually had a meal - none of those trendy miniscule artistic displays. The food is described as Mediterranean though to me it was a fusion of eastern Mediterranean and Middle Eastern all with an Australian touch. There were some different combinations of flavours all of which worked. Absolutely brilliant!

And we had linen tablecloths and napkins. And the staff know their job.

This is a proper restaurant!

We arrived at restaurant for our 8pm booking. We were seated immediately. Table was not set properly. Woman said she would come back for our order in a minute after we said we were ready to order. Never came back. Gent took our order who was most helpful. Had to get up and get pur bottle of wine to re stock our glasses. Food arrived. Had to ask for napkins for table. I ordered Duck for main. Food perfect. Spatchcock ordered as other dish perfect as well. Finished our mesl and went elsewere as service killed the dining experience. Cannot fault food though.

Had the degustation meal, some courses were great, some good, but dessert was only ok, wine matching was off, a pinot noir with light balmain bugs, and merlot with duck wasn't on song. Quite expensive for the meal sizes, service could be better at this level, shouldn't have to go ask for the matching wine to be delivered. Probably won't be back.
