If you like French food, this is the place. We had the pate, which was a hearty serve, more than enough for 2 served with brioche. The bread and butter served complimentary on arrival is also delicious and home made. Then the mains. We went twice in a week on our visit to Canberra because it was so good the first time. We had the sole meunière, traditional and gorgeous. Probably big enough to share after we ate the pate. Perfectly cooked and nice vegetable choices. The peas with speck were great. Next list we reordered the Beef Wellington and it was fantastic. Probably the best we have ever had. Perfectly cooked, we ate every morsel, but didn't have an entree this time, knowing it would be enormous. It is smart causal with exposed brick, candles on the table create a nice ambience. Tables are well-spaced. Welcome was warm and service from Chris amazing. Wine list is very good. Loved the Rose. Overall, this is one not to be missed, especially if you are a French devotee.

Air condioning was not working night we visited which made being seated inside uncomfortable. Food amazing. We ordered full duck. Perfect and they allowed us to sit outside after dinner. Service perfect.

Was taken to Les Bistronomes by my partner for a surprise birthday dinner! Walk past this place at least once a week and had never been in to try the food!... Oh my.... well, it was extremely busy for a Tuesday night, however we got a cute little table for 2 in the corner. The service was amazing and friendly - I always ask what is the most popular on the menu before choosing and our waitress was more than helpful!
We started off with the CHARCUTERIE PLATTER - AND WOW! It was amazing! I then had the TRADITIONAL BOUILLABAISSE which was very delightful to eat! My partner has the lamb, which also looked amazing! NOW - the important part, sweets! Oh my, we shared the CHOCOLATE PAVE and the VANILLA CREME BRULEE which came out on FIRE! It was delicious and a great size! I would recommend this place and will definitely be back - thank you again for a lovely evening!

Having weekday-lunched enjoyably on several occasions at Les Bistronomes, I persuaded six others to join me for the Saturday lunchtime tasting menu—five courses for $50. Our visit's courses consisted of canapes of a garlic snail and a pork rillette; rich crème of asparagus soup garnished with croutons of cubed crisped bacon and cubes of jellied stock; a pork terrine on a rectangle of toasted sourdough, with a flavoursome herb topping; sliced roast lamb beside a rectangular ‘moat’ of a melting consommé sauce surrounded by a rim of pea puree; and a dessert course of crème caramel accompanied by slices of pear poached in white wine and saffron. We will return—and attempt to cover several more of the wine list’s interesting offerings (predominantly French; and with many less-well known regions represented). Not inexpensive, prices are nevertheless reasonable relative to the wines' quality. The restaurant ambience was cheerful, and the service friendly, informed and prompt. An ACTION bus to the city and home obviated any conflict with breathalysers.

Love this place. Very authentically French. Food is really amazing. Have seen a few menu changes and the food has all been exceptional. Highly recommend the ‘surprise’ degustation menu - and my friend raves about a fancy Saturday lunch menu (though I’ve never been for that). Prices are also pretty reasonable considering the quality. Staff and owners extremely friendly (and interesting people) who make a point to ensure the entire experience for the guests is top class. We will continue to visit as often as possible :)
