Stayed here for 6 nights on holiday. It's a nice little hotel and our room was smart, clean and modern.

Staff were always polite and helpful.

It lacks any proper breakfast facilities, although it does have a small area in reception where you can get a coffee and something to eat. We didn't try it so I can't tell you how good that is!

We chose the hotel as it is centrally located, just round the corner from the downtown retail area and about a 20 min walk from Circular Quay.

Overall I'd recommend the hotel, although for me I think I'd stay a little further out next time as the cafes and restaurants in the suburbs are in my opinion much better than the premium priced CBD / Darling Harbour establishments.

Thanks for your review Gary S,
We are pleased to read that overall your six nights with us were enjoyable and our team provided friendly and polite service during that time. Such a shame we could not have tempted you to try our coffee or light snacks... they are delicious, maybe next time!
Safe travels and I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back to Park8 again in the near future. Safe travels.

This was our first time visiting Sydney and we had a 6-year-old girl with us. The hotel was well situated at the heart of Sydney city and it was close to amenities like Woolworths and train station. It was also close to Haymarket and Chinatown. We also added an additional bed in our booking.

We booked a 2-storey loft room and this concept was interesting. My girl had fun exploring the room. However, to our disappointment, the facilities were not well kept. On the first night, the air-con broke down and the wifi was not available. This was only resolved on the second day. On the second night, the fire alarm went off and all the guests had to evacuate in the middle of a cold and wet night. It turned up to be a false alarm.

The room is dim and dusty. However, it is a good place to be based for a short stay. The staff were helpful in answering our questions.

Room Tip: Choose a loft room!

Dear Theresa M,
Thank you for your balanced review. We appreciate you taking the time to review your recent experience with us. On a positive note we are pleased our team provided helpful and professional service and hopefully gave some great tips to enjoy the CBD.
We do apologize that there was an issue with the AC unit and the Wi-Fi in your allocated guest room. We certainly appreciate your concerns and we will ensure we rectify these immediately so they do not affect future guests experiences.
We do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future so we can win you back.
Warmest Regards,

We didn't know it was going to be smack dabbed in the middle of downtown sydney. It was only a couple blocks away from QVB and it is near the Town Hall metro station. We also were surprised to find the bathroom was ultra spacious and the bedroom was comfortable, packed with amenities for business travelers, such as iron and ironing board. Don't be fooled by the tiny lobby!

The location is quite convenient, a short walk from Museum or St James stations. It's also conveniently located a block away from Woolworth's (for breakfasts, Tim Tams and other needs) and many attractions in Central Sydney are within walking distance.

The ground floor reception is really tiny, but cheerful. It doesn't look like they have the space, but the staff were helpful to let us leave our luggage until our room was ready. There isn't a restroom on the ground floor, you will be redirected to the McDonalds around the corner if you've not yet access to the rooms. There seems to be only one person manning reception at one go, a queue may build at times. Minor requests were acceded too (ours were extra pillows) but required a reminder. Otherwise, they were really helpful with directions and other needs.

The rooms are clean and basic. If you face the main road, there will be some noise, but not too much. The curtains are nice blackout ones, and sleeping in won't be a problem. My bugbear may be the lighting, the bathroom ones are stark white and just looks clinical. The room remains dark despite turning everything on. A minor adjustment there will add a lot to making the room look and feel more welcoming and comfortable.
