We stayed at this B&B for the last 5 nights of our holiday in Australia and I must say it was a fabulous place to end a wonderful holiday. We drove down to Sydney from the Blue Mountains and were concerned about finding the rental car depot to drop off our car. No need to worry, Gary suggested we drive to the B&B, drop off our bags and he would escort us to the drop off point, wait and being us back - what service! It all worked extremely well. Although we arrived in the morning, we were made extremely welcome and coffee was provided giving us a chance to meet Julie, his wife, and a fellow guest. ,The house is stunning and the two rooms he lets out to guests are lovely. Like other visitors, we stayed in the smaller of the two rooms to start with then moved into the larger room with a balcony and view over Sydney for the last three nights. No hassle.....Gary did everything. We were given Opal cards to get us moving on the local transport, lots of advice on where to go, what to do and where to eat, Gary is a mine of information and so helpful. The breakfast he provides is second to none, much better than any hotel we've stayed in and by eating near the kitchen area we had stimulating conversation while we ate. Gary's pancakes are to die for...... At the end of our stay Gary drove us to the airport (all included in the price) at the unearthly hour of 03.15 - again, it was no trouble and everything was done to perfection. If we ever get to visit Sydney again we would definitely stay here and we intend to tell any friends who are looking for accommodation in the area. This house is located on a fairly steep hill and my only concern would be for people who are less mobile.

Stayed 3 nights at the Forsyth BnB prior to a cruise. The accommodations were excellent, breakfast was delicious - served with a view to the Japanese garden, and Gary is a most accommodating host. He went out of his way to assist us with some travel issues and gave great advice on things to see and do in and around Sydney. This is a great location with access to public transportation, and a variety of restaurants nearby.

On our arrival at Forsyth B & B we were stunned to see what a beautiful place it was. We were warmly greeted by our host, Gary de Garis who then proceeded to make our overnight pre cruise stay totally memorable. The breakfast provided was amazing, fresh fruit, homemade muffins and muesli, fresh brewed coffee and hot breakfast made to order.
Gary is the consummate host. We would highly recommend a stay at Forsyth B&B and hope to do so again in the not too distant future.

My boyfriend and I stayed for 9 nights during a conference at the University of Sydney with a few days added either side of the conference for exploring the city and surrounding area. We stayed for the first 6 nights in the Rozelle room (the larger of the two with views out to the city) and the remaining 3 nights in the Blackwattle room (the smaller of the two). Both rooms were very well looked after and decorated to a high standard with all of the necessary facilities. Gary, the owner, also happily moved all of our belongings from one room to the other without any hassle after the first 6 nights.

Gary picked us up from the airport for free and we shared a bottle of wine when we arrived at the house whilst he provided us with all the tourist advice we needed as well as local advice on getting around, where to eat and drink etc. He also provided us both with an opal card to get us started on public transport – this made it so easy to get straight into exploring the city.

The house is beautiful inside and very tastefully decorated. It is in the Glebe area of the city which has a lovely high street with many nice eateries, bars, cafes and bookshops etc. It was perfectly located for the conference with very easy and quick access to the city; we either took a short bus journey or took the light rail - both of which being a 5 minute walk from the house – straight into the heart of the city or to darling harbour where we often took the ferry round to the opera house.

There was a wonderful (and plentiful) breakfast provided each morning, which we ate in the garden most mornings (weather permitting), and Gary was also very accommodating given my intolerance to both gluten and lactose, providing alternative muesli, banana bread, pancakes and coffee etc. We had some interesting and engaging conversations with Gary, who looked after us for the entirety of our trip, and also some pleasant interactions with his wife Julie (who we saw less of) as well as their cat Oscar who turned out to be the ideal breed of cat for someone with cat allergies!

There were also a number of instances where Gary and Julie added those little extras that surpassed our expectations, e.g. besides the bottle of wine we shared on arrival, Gary also very kindly presented us with a bottle of wine when we left, he dropped us at the bus stop over the other side of the city one day on our way to Bondi beach, he lent us hats for the scorching days and umbrellas for the surprisingly wet days etc…

We would highly recommend this accommodation and definitely stay there again next time we are in that neck of the woods.

We stayed (2 couples) with Gary in December and had a delightful time. He is a wonderful and accommodating host and had great suggestions for our time in Sydney, directions on the best way to move around the city, and first-rate restaurant recommendations. Breakfast was delightful and we loved waking up with the birds in the trees just outside our room. The rooms are spacious and well designed and we loved chatting with Gary in the late afternoons over a wide range of topics. Glebe is a charming community and we enjoyed wandering the main street and feeling a bit like a local. Gary went out of his way to help with our luggage. We were headed to the Great Barrier Reef and he stored our big bag and then delivered them to our airport hotel so they would be waiting as we passed back through Sydney. We would definitely recommend this great B&B and hope to get back one day.
