Stayed at this resort for 3 nights and this is ample enough time to view the rock and to have some relaxation time. We had the silence of the sounds tour booked for the Saturday evening but unfortunately due to the rain it was cancelled, we went to reception who kindly moved us onto the next evening which it went ahead and it was truly the most remarkable experience I have ever encountered and will stay with me forever. The hotel resort is very clever in the fact you can use all of the facilities in each hotel at ease. The hotel itself is ok and did its job for the 3 nights we stayed there for. Hotel staff are pleasant and will help you with anything.

After travelling some 8 hrs to stay and see the Rock, an Australian Heritage Icon for all Australian's, I am disappointed. The accommodation is barely 3 star, aged, lacking detail, and suitable resources in the rooms. To our surprise, when we pulled back the bedroom sheets we discovered ants nesting. Then to shower in a bathtub, with stained shower curtains, two moths flew into the bathtub. Considering the price well above $350 per night, delux room, it is disappointing.
Despite the readily available hospitality services, somewhat over priced, the feel of the hotel does provide us some justice, but then it's lacks the detail afforded to the rating and historical tourism value.
Please provide Foxtel to the television options.
It does feel like it accommodates the international community rather than representing the heritage of Australia.

The Ayers Rock Resort does not have the benefit of local competition and in some ways that shows, in other ways they keep themselves to a very high standard. The resort area was built in the 1980s and it shows in some ways. Some of the outside of buildings, gardens, the pool area etc. are looking a bit worn, while the hotel rooms and restaurants as well as the shops in the hotel have been beautifully renovated. The rooms are big and comfortable with all the things you need in a hotel room: shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, iron and ironing board, fridge, kettle, safe, bathrobes etc. They are also nicely decorated with aboriginal art. Most (if not all) rooms have a balcony or small outside area.
Everything you do around Uluru can - and should - be booked through the hotel or the associated tour operator. There are a number of free activities - walks and talks about astronomy, history, culture, flora and fauna etc. - and a couple of lookout points close to the hotel. But most activities around Uluru and Kata Tjuta come at a price. It is not cheap but the money goes to the national park and the local community.

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the desert gardens & although we enjoyed the area and trips, guides being very informative, we were disappointed in the hotel. The reception and main areas were 4 star but the accommodation certainly was not. The pool side & accommodation areas hadn’t seen a brush for months even allowing for the geography. The sun beds were rancid with paintwork peeling heavily, low poolside maintenance.
The shower curtain and toilet extremely badly soiled, balcony dirty.
The food was reasonably priced and of a good standard.
In my view such failing bring this hotel to 3 star, tops.

Our sole purpose in visiting Uluru was to see the Field of Lights. We have visited Uluru before and stayed in the same Hotel.

The weather was extremely hot when we visited so we were extremely grateful for the air conditioned room. Although it worked well it was very, very noisy.

The room itself was good. The beds were comfortable and the room was relatively clean. The bathroom tiles could do with a good steam clean. The bathroom was large with plenty of room for your toiletries. The toiletries supplied were good. Although their website says the hotel has recently been refurbished, I didn't find our room any different than it was when we stayed several years earlier.

Our package included a buffet breakfast and there was a good variety to choose from. We also had dinner at the same restaurant and found the food to be good; however there wasn't much to choose from for dinner.

The pool at the hotel looked inviting, although we didn't use it.
All the staff were friendly, helpful and professional.

Overall, our stay was a pleasant one and I would recommend staying here.
