We had a great day out in the tablelands. Beware it takes quite a long time as there is so much to see and do. The coffee plantation is a must serving delicious food as well for lunch. The views are great and it gives an idea of the enormous scale of farming plus the variety of crops grown. Lots of fun historical towns and small waterfalls. A stop at the curtain fig rainforest is worth while.

Beautiful views but is a room in a share house
We got a special for $135 per night instead of $150. We were booked into the Fern Room (king room) but but on arrival to get the keys, we were told we were upgraded. Got to to place and our new room was called the Mabi Room - it was a normal queen bedroom. So much for the upgrade. Place was full, 3 other bed rooms so I am guessing that as we got a cheaper price that was were put into a smaller room and not the room we had originally booked and paid for
Had to pick up keys from different property and after following the signs directing me to the reception, I was stick halfway up a stairwell with a snarling growling dog. Why the dog was not put away as it was after 2pm for people coming in to pick up keys I don’t understand but it was a frightening experience
This mob also take $75 from your credit card as a deposit which is ok but I wasn’t told it was going to take 5 working days for the money to be returned
Just stayed in our room as this was the only place with any privacy

An enjoyable day trip to Tableland included visits to Mareeba, Atherton, Herberton, Yungaburra and Tinaroo Dam. Places well worth a visit are Herberton Historical Village and Avenue of Honour at Yungaburra. and Coffee Works at Mareeba. A great day out with plenty to see & do.

This is a great place to do a bit of touring - charming little towns, great lakes and even better rain forest walks.
