The mackeral and the snapper were fresh, well presented and tasty. The scallop entree and the pimento soup also were excellent.
Service was efficient and friendly.

Our family loves seafood. We chose this place over the recommended Prawn Star a short walk away. We were enticed by the 20% off the regular price if we sat down at 5:30pm and were out by 7:00pm.
We ordered two seafood towers, a three tired affair which included calamari, Prawns, Morton bay bugs, half lobster tail, oysters, battered fillets and smoked salmon.
The best tasting items were the calamari, the lobster and the battered fish. These were the three that arrived hot. Everything else seemed like it had been preassembled on the tower and left in the cool room waiting for some hapless family to order. Very disappointing.

Stayed at the Shangri-La and had lunch at North Kitchen one day.
The food was lovely but as others mention the service was slow.
However on our last night we desided to have dinner at NK as we were leaving rather early.
BIG MISTAKE.
I booked a table in the afternoon and noone mentiened anything about an arrangement taking place in the evening.
After that I took out a bonus of appr. 67 AUD from my Golden Circle-account to use for part of the meal.
When we arrived at the restaurant it appears that a charity arrangement with loud music ( we could hardly hear one another) were taking place in the bar included in the restaurant.
The waiter was so very kind and offered us an inside table. However it was almost as noisy as the outside table and we wanted the view of the marina on our last night. Then he offered us a table next to a childrens birthday party with 6-8 children AND the music was still loud.
We ended up leaving the restaurant and eat at Tha Fish (see seperate review) instead.
Claimed to the management of Shangri-la on return and had respond from 3 different persons ( a lady on the phone at 11p.m., a manager at check-out and an email from a manager the next day). All claimed that this was to expect as they catered to locals and charity was important.
I fully agree that charity is important BUT why could they inform me about this arrangement when I booked the table.
The result for me is that I have spend appr. 67 AUS on NOTHING.
Will NEVER come back and can NOT recommend this to others.

Thank Hanne N

We were staying at the hotel so stopped for breakfast our first morning. The buffet was $30 per person which seemed a bit steep so went for the ala carte. We each had the omlette which was good, along with toast, hash browns and grilled tomatoes. The quality of the food was good.

True waterfront location with plenty of seats along the edge. Beautiful place for a drink at the end of the day with a diverse choice of generously portioned cocktails. Only let down was the onion rings with aioli which only came with about a teaspoon of said aioli - very odd!
