Tamarind continues its position as the best fine dining restaurant in Cairns. The service is exemplary and the menu wide-ranging. There is a good wine list. There’s also a $120 degustation menu if you prefer.
We enjoyed the Moreton Bay Bug entree ( amazing sauces/accompaniments) and the duck liver cigar entree...lovely flavour.
For mains, a whole barramundi, and the Penang Duck curry were both brilliant. (I ordered a green papaya salad on the side which proved too much to tackle!)
We left room for dessert and coffee and staggered off to collapse in a food coma.
Prices are high but worth every cent . This is a terrific restaurant to celebrate a special occasion!
