Don't assume you can just turn up and get a table; FNQ is full and you need to book in advance. We went in to book the day before and requested a table out the front (but still under cover) oyverlooking the beach, rather than inside. As everywhere, you need to check in with the QR on arrival. The Surf Club offers reasonably priced meals and drinks. You must order and pay at the bar giving your table number, and someone will bring your food to you. We were there for steak night and took advantage of this excellent offer which included a choice of sauces, chips and salad. The staff here are very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We are not interested in gaming, but really enjoyed the good casual meal in a pleasant setting.
