Don't assume you can just turn up and get a table; FNQ is full and you need to book in advance. We went in to book the day before and requested a table out the front (but still under cover) oyverlooking the beach, rather than inside. As everywhere, you need to check in with the QR on arrival. The Surf Club offers reasonably priced meals and drinks. You must order and pay at the bar giving your table number, and someone will bring your food to you. We were there for steak night and took advantage of this excellent offer which included a choice of sauces, chips and salad. The staff here are very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We are not interested in gaming, but really enjoyed the good casual meal in a pleasant setting.

We visited here for lunch and we are in the habit now of choosing two or three entrees and sharing the meal. We chose two meals the Bao buns and the Sushi and I thought we may need wedges to fill this lunch out. The person who took our order said the two dishes were quite big and the wedges came in a large plate so I changed the order to garlic bread in place of the wedges. We had heaps to eat and apart from that the buns and sushi were excellent. The Boa Buns came with a serve of Taro chips but we didn't eat the chips as neither of us really liked them. The service was very friendly and helpful and we thought the pricing was good and it was very pleasant overlooking the beach, certainly a stop we would recommend.

Super friendly staff early on a Sunday night, which was fully booked!
Ease with ordering, and prompt service.
Hubby’s ribs were HUGE and to die for.
My calamari was very tender and plentiful.
A must for a lowkey bite when in Port Douglas right on the beach.
