Barbados is always on our go-to places when in Port Douglas. This place is highly recommended by the team at Mowbray By The Sea and having been here ~3 times now I still absolutely love the vibe here. Great atmosphere, extensive drinks list and simple yet wonderful menu. Hubby and I were here for our anniversary and we were lucky enough to secure a reservation during their busiest time.

Barbados is a place for you to chill, chat and laugh with family and friends while you enjoy the vibrant sunset among the lush green trees and grass. Wendy, the gracious host, was also lovely to chat with after she knew we were celebrating our anniversary.

During a covid time where all tourist destinations are struggling, very bizarre experience once getting off a marina sunset cruise with the family and thinkin it would be a nice idea to do a pre-dinner drink to be treated this way. We were shuffled from front door to bar and waited (even though there was seating and lounge areas vacant) and waited and then told to shuffle towards a couch, which was facing the bar even though it's whole emphasis is marina views. We were told on 2 occasions by the elderly maitrade that 'we were lucky to be there I am guessing without a booking but perhaps she was lucky given we spent $40 on cocktails with a lack of service with nibbles not even offered or even asked if we wanted another drink. We're a well travelled family, from far north qld and never had such bizarre service or experience. Borderline insta snobery. Plus no toilets in the venue, quite a walk down the mall! Very weird experience, never to go back, rather go to Hemingway brewery next door, 5 star.

Nice location and great casual feel. Was able to accomodate our large group of 11 on New Years Eve and whilst it was only a 2 hour sitting they made us room to stay on longer. Nice tapas menu which came out very quickly even with the place being full. Service was great and the owner very friendly. Definitely recommend.

From the entrance with the hostess and owner alongside, Barbados looks, feels, and is a great spot to sit and have cocktails ( which are excellent too ) and snacks/menu complimenting well. There's a real effort with the look, feel, and food here and caring, happy staff and owner. They have a little seaside resort-style shop too which we bought half of one day haha. clean, sharp whites and blues, cabanas, umbrellas, tropical plants, and peeps through to the grass and water. From mojitos to champers and more, chill in your own canaba, kick your flip flops off and enjoy

Well done! Get the council to give you full use of the grass area to complete the feel! :)
