Location of hotel was great and an easy stroll into the heart of Surfers Paradise . Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious. Would be great if Wi-Fi was included in the cost of the room.

The Hits: We picked the BreakFree Beachpoint based on three Ps - position, panorama and price. Its location is perfect: right on the beachfront and within walking distance of the main attractions and restaurant strip surrounding Cavill Ave, and yet just far enough away to not be impacted by the noise and not-so-nice elements of that area. Free onsite parking is a breeze and cable TV is a nice bonus for an indoor day. The beachfront view from the sixth floor two-bedroom apartment is to die for. With two bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen and laundry, this ticks many boxes for a family holiday.

The Misses: Our apartment was VERY tired and in dire need of a refresh. There wasn’t a wall without chipped paint, the carpets were pretty tired or in serious need of a steam clean. I totally get that this kind of accommodation will be knocked around, but there is no excuse for the really poor cleaning standards we encountered. The apartment had been given a very cursory vacuum but honestly Stevie Wonder could spot the dust along the skirting and lint balls under every piece of furniture. We tried vacuuming the floor ourselves but the cleaner didn’t even have enough power to suck up a peanut. The floors needed a proper steam mop and the bathrooms’ grouting was mouldy and extractor fans were fouled with dust. Worst of all, we had a pest problem - roaches were in the bathrooms and kitchen.

It’s such a shame and not worth the $200/night price we were charged. I’d love to come back and stay here again but I hope that they will make the improvements needed.

We booked as we had a conference on across the road at the QT and we were so glad we chose a 2 bed apartment here instead. Amazing water views, we could hear the sound of the water all night it was so lovely. Decor was a lot dated, but really clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly, we chocked in late, and helpful. I would recommend to all those looking for a quieter experience while at Surfers.

The apartment is conveniently located near the Cypress Avenue Tram Station and face the Surfers Paradise Beach. We were warmly greeted by the receptionist and surprisingly the room was ready way before the standard check-in timing. It is well-equipped with the mentioned facilities and couldn't have asked for more. The bathroom door knob lock was faulty, and it was fixed the next day. The apartment and facilities may have looked run down. However, during the stay, we noticed that there are refurbishment works going on. Overall, we’re very happy with our stay at the BreakFree Beachpoint and will definitely return on our next trip to the Gold Coast!
