Firstly what an amazing transformation to a now modern and beautiful resort
The living reef is a real wow factor
A special mention to Maggie at Lovers Cove who made our snorkel experience a treat our 6 year old thinks you are pretty cool and to Boston Jess the life guard you were so friendly and kind you made each day by the pool great.
The breakfast Buffett is on point, the infinity restaurant is heavenly we kicked ourselves that we didn’t make a booking on our last night as we couldn’t get seated until far too late with a child
The pools and scenery are cracking and we had a blast at water sports even getting up close and personal with a sea turtle

Room tip: Even if it looks quiet book your tables for meals Expect a minimum spend of $300 per day

Enjoyed our night stay there, the new daydream is classy. We did our natures walk from the chapel to the lovers cove. Heaps of Kangaroos that occupy the island, if u have never been close to one.The staff are so welcoming and professional from the transit lounge, reception, restaurants .Infinity Restaurant was so classy and the food is succulent asian fusion, yum. I think it is short staff, the staff that served us at Infinity the nigjt before, served us again at buffet brekky.Room big and spacious. It is a hidden paradise. A $300 bond is taken when you check in. Note that if u a budget savvy. Highlight of my stay: the Living reef.

Day trip to Daydream Island for my Birthday. We read that it was $36 over to Island which we paid online but when we got to the Terminal was informed we had to pay a further $36 Visiting/ Landing Fee to visit the island for the day. Although on the web site it does say this, it is very deceiving and should be pointed out that the actual cost is $76 per person. I would hate to turn up with a family as this could really blow out your budget. Daydream Island itself is lovely and has really been restored, but it is still a work in progress, I guess due to Covid. We had lunch @ Inkstone Restaurant. Lovely views and a nice breeze. We had a pizza which was tasty and sweet potato fries, and this was more than enough for 2 of us to share for lunch. We walked over to the Lovers Cove for a snorkel. Lovely views and we brought over our own snorkel and goggles and the staff kindly lent us flippers (free of charge) It didn't look rough but there was a current flowing so we were unable to get out for a swim. The rocks were sharp and one man cut himself on the rock trying to retrieve a lost flipper so we decided to give it a miss. There could be more shade provided here though but overall it is quite pretty. We went over to the other side of the island via the main foyer and the Live Tank. Live Tank and the Main Foyer is impressive. We had a drink on the deck outside, though beer was expensive. We sat watching the fish which was lovely. However, we did feel there could be more coral displays in the aquarium, as it looks bare. Took a leisurely walk around to the other pools on the Sunset Beach near the gorgeous Wedding Chapel. Enjoyed a cocktail in the pool and had a swim. There were little shop fronts along the pool however nothing was open, only the Bar. Barman was super friendly. Would be nice if there was ice cream parlour or snack bar over this area as it is lovely and quiet. Overall I would return to Daydream for a 3 - 4 night stay at the Resort. I think you would have to bring your own snacks as there doesn't seem to be anything available if you were to get hungry (except if you wanted to pay out $10 plus for a box of hot chips etc) The Reception area should have more detailed information on what is available for Day trippers - there are brochures but just the usual ones that you get in any info centre.

Unfortunately the island seemed very understaffed. Staff consistently failed to greet or even acknowledge guests. I think they were overwhelmed - it was a long weekend.

There were a few exceptional staff members: front reception were excellent. The housekeeping team who serviced our rooms were lovely, friendly and very obliging.

Restaurants were unable to cater for the number of guests over the long weekend. My family of 4 (two kids under 5) were turned away from both waterfront restaurants at 5pm since they were “booked out”. Both restaurants empty and remained mostly empty when we finished our takeaway just outside on the beach 40 minutes later.

The pool bar staff did not provide any level of customer service.

The breakfast was disgraceful with no enforcement of COVID regulations and nobody encouraging hand sanitiser. No utensils on bread the first day we were there. Breakfast food was ordinary. Completely understaffed. Waiting times for breakfast were totally unsatisfactory.

This was our first visit to Daydream in 5 years (we decided to give you another try). Unfortunately based on this experience we will go back to Hamilton Island for our next visit. It is a real shame - I am a local and would love to see Daydream be successful.

We spent 4 nights at Daydream resort.
First 2 was still school holidays- lots of families and children’s activities- not much else.
The breakfast buffet was understaffed, could be great.
The 2 restaurants were ok, hit and miss. One night fantastic and the next not so great.
Swimup bar- great if it is not understaffed!
They ran out of beer.
Lovers Cove is a beautiful spot- but few umbrellas and no lounge chairs. You cannot put your towel down as the beach is coral! Bring your swim shoes!
Bring your own snorkel equipment as they only open at 10:15 am
At the moment, I would recommend this resort if you have children.
