Friends and myself were lucky enough to get a table here for brunch on a very busy last Saturday (18-3-17) and were not disappointed in any way. Definitely book before coming as this place is buzzing. The food is superb and all of us, including 2 vegetarians were delighted with the quality of the food served, the lovely, friendly, welcoming staff and the excellent service, especially given how busy they were. The hosts, Simon and Laura operate this booming cafe with professionalism and conviviality that sets the standard for how cafes/restaurants should be run. Order any of their dishes for breakfast or lunch and you will not be disapppointed-flavoursome and fresh, quality food. Brunch was so good that we bought a couple of their delicious raspberry and chocolate muffins which were the best I have ever tasted. Great coffee capped off a great brunch. Our waiters, Stella and Emily were very efficient and professional and I made a point of complimenting the owners, Simon and Laura on their outstanding small cafe which punches well above its weight.

The Lansdowne Cafe doesn't have any reason to be as good as it is - it's just a little cafe outside the city centre...but it over delivers in every way. We had lunch today and were blown away - my slow roasted lamb melted in my mouth, our kids had the salmon which was perfectly cooked and my wife had the haloumi and avocado toast, which was incredible. All of the accompanying salads were full of flavour and, to top it off, the coffee was literally the best that I've had in Tasmania.

This is an incredible find - come and be enthralled by the best meal you'll have in Hobart!

Stayed at an Air B and B property in the local area and stumbled upon this little gem of a cafe. We had a breakfast of their Corn Fritters and Corn Bread French Toast and were delighted with the quality of the food. Tasted amazing and the staff were super friendly and helpful to complement this. Well priced and would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Staying at the nearby Bay View Villas, we were amazed every morning as this cafe seems to be packed - always a good sign. So finally we paid a visit. Parking was not that easy, but we found a park a block away in a side street.
We scored a nice seat in the corner and the ambience was just right - cozy and friendly. This is not a big cafe, but they are very busy and I take my hat off to the chef cooking up this great feast in the small kitchen.
We did not wait long for our breakfast - feta scrambled eggs and mushrooms; and my wife ordered French toast corn bread with bacon and tomato. Only top ingredients were used and the breakfast was simply delicious - a real breakfast bonanza. We asked and received our coffee after breakfast and it was just as good. Probably one of the best breakfasts in a long time. Highly recommended!!

Such a great local cafe. The coffee is always hot, which I am fussy with. Lovely menu, can customise well too and the potato rosti is one of the best I've tasted.
You'll need to book, I do each time I go. Only downside is it can get a little noisy, but that's expected with a smaller cafe.
