Punthill is ideally situated close to cafes, shops and transport. It's a stylish room, with modern fittings, and a functional if compact kitchen and bathroom. Great spot for a weekend of shopping, dining out or browsing Chapel Street and Toorak Rd. The only downside, is a close proximity to the railway line which might disrupt on lower levels.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the top floors for quieter sleep.

The rooms were well equipped , clean and comfortable and location is excellent next to South Yarra Station and prices far better that in the CBD for something similar.Staff were friendly and cooperative. The car park demands a small car or great care. Overall a good place to stay close to the . Internet was free and worked well.

The hotel is located on an oddly unattractive street next to South Yarra railway station. Train noise is noticeable but not too intrusive.
There are two towers with separate lift accesses one of which is outside and down the adjacent lane.
The room on level 20 provided panoramic views from the city to the bay which was the main strong point of the apartment.
Otherwise it provided an adequate self-contained level of appointment, however, it just felt a bit tired as indicated by the crazed bathroom sink.
The bathroom vanity provided only limited space.
Wifi was of modest strength.
Parking is available within the building at a cost of $22/night.
Ok overall but not grand!

My husband and I had 4 nights at this hotel apartment. We had room 2004 on the 20th floor, which is a 1 bedroom apartment. It had everything you need, with a nice balcony. Was on the train line but is very quiet at night when doors are closed. We stayed here for an AFL game and it is so convenient to MCG, AAMI, town, gardens etc. Room was serviced everyday and was always clean. City lights and views are 10 out of 10 - magical. Only negative is the curtains from the bedroom to the loungeroom should be thicker to keep the light out.

Room Tip: If you don't like hearing a faint toot from the trains then request a room at the back of the block.

I've stayed here twice now. Both visits the rooms were clean, spacious and well maintained. The location right next to the train station and tram stop is ideal to get into town or to pop over to the markets easily, as well as being close to local shops (chemist, small supermarket and many restaurants are all a short walk). Since my first trip they now include WiFi access so they have clearly taken previous feedback on board. The staff have all been absolutely lovely and had great recommendations when we asked about local shops or the best way to get around.
The two bedroom apartments would suit a family or two couples easily. There's a reasonable kitchen and full sized fridge if you want to cook some of your own meals to save money.
There is a spa and gym area which looks ok for casual gym users but we didn't make use of these facilities.
