“Good short stay apartment”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2012

We went to stay on a Monday night for a personal-business trip and had top floor with the two bedroom and a bathroom and powder room, it was spacious, the bathroom has a huge spa, the apartment looked nice and new too, clean, good size kitchen equipped with everything, dinning table was good, lounge was small but okay enough.

Our overall stay was satisfied however the down down side would be the noise, sadly maybe it was because of its excellent right in the city location but the cars and trams outside was heard or can be heard 24hrs, which is annoying when trying to get to sleep, apart from that everything was good. Friendly service too.

Room Tip: Higher floors are better, maybe will be less nosy and it seems new too.

Our company travel agent has a limited range of accommodation options in Melbourne under $200 a night - which is to say Quest onBourke Serviced apartments wouldn't necessarily be my first choice. To be fair however for the rate I paid, a 1 bedroom apartment is better value and more comfortable than hotel rooms of a similar price. The room I had was long and narrow and the smallish bedroom didn't have an external window. It did have a frosted glass window on to the living room to allow some light in. The living room in turn had a very large window overlooking Bourke St.

The furniture and decor were functional rather than attractive. Harsh flourescent lighting adds to the cheap ambiance. The large bed which filled most of the was on of those zipped together things with a ridge down the centre. Kitchen facilities were bare bones basic with only uht milk pouches in the fridge. The apartment was clean and well maintained apart from a few inevitable paint chips etc, but house keeping could pay a bit more attention to detail to move the room from merely clean to actually being fresh and sparkling like in good hotels. Finally, reception staff were efficient and competent but friendly isn't an adjective I would use to describe them. Like the title says, average overall. My expectations were fairly modest so I can't complain that Quest on Bourke fell short in any way.

This quest hotel is nothing fancy and unassuming but has such a great location at a good price, which makes it a great place to stay if all you need is a bed for the night. All amenities worked beautifully and the reception staff were really welcoming and helpful. We had a two bedroom apartment with an unnecessarily large bathroom which makes the second bedroom ( with queen bed) rather small. Again, the same gripe I have with many places - every side of the bed needs a lamp!!! Very close to all shopping, theatre etc.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear are quieter

We just spent 2 nights at Quest including New Years Eve. I was a little concerned after booking seeing some reviews talking about noise and a night club (especially given we were there on NYE). We were very pleased that the rooms were extremely quiet as the Night Club has closed down.

The rooms were spacious, great location and extremely well priced. The rooms werent serviced due to it being Sunday and a public holiday (but nobody comes and makes my bed at home everyday either!!). We were informed we could get more towels or supplies - just to let housekeeping know and they would deliver, so this wasnt a problem and meant our rooms were reasonably priced. Air conditioning worked welll as it was 35C during our stay. We arrived at 10.30am by train so wanted to drop off our bags, we were informed our room was ready so we could check in then - very impressed!

Had 3 nights at Quest and once again great service, clean room and a big pat on the back for Jac in reception,he does a great job.As far a the rooms go for the cost of a self contained unit you won;t find better in the CBD.quite.clean and big units.Am going back in Feb as we looked around while we were there and nothing else competes with it for valuu

Room Tip: If you smoke ask for a balcony, the 1 bedroom balconies are small but do the job.
