Having stayed here many times over the last 8 years or so for different concerts at Rod Laver we have always found it ideal for location but next time we will commute the extra distance for better accommodation.
Since the new owners took over we have seen it decline in cleanliness, maintenance and customer service. Very basic 'cleaning' of bathrooms (spider web in shower, tap faucets covered in toothpaste).

The bed was very comfortable however and location was ideal but I would only recommend here as a very last resort now.

Room Tip: Definitely book an ensuite room

Only worthy of a 1 night stay, very close to Mcg, limited free parking. Advertises Wifi but it never worked. $130 for an ensuite room on a Saturday night to go to a concert at Rod Laver. This is a very old house converted into multiple very small rooms, some with ensuite, some without. Smells old and musty, perhaps mould, throughout the complex. Basic cleaning only throughout. When i checked in to my room it looked ok, but closer inspection found a wad of someone elses hair in the bathroom between the vanity and shower. If i could flick it out with a towel then a cleaner should have been able to remove it easily. Bathroom mirror had hair on it, hallway mirror covered in dust and fingerprints.Photos showed micro wave in room but there is only tea and coffee facilities.Photos also show bright rooms with great new dooner covers, this must have been taken in their best room, not the room i got. I was able to use the microwave in the breakfast room. Limited, tight squeeze parking behind for about 8 cars. They have gone with a weird key to access the facility, it has an unusual lock and can only be put in and jiggled around a bit in the hope that it works eventually. Staff were friendly. Very quiet area but as soon as other guests get up you can hear the very old floor boards squeaking. I had to try this place due to its location, but i wont be back.

Sadly, due to a meeting close to the accomodation venue my 2 colleagues and i had to stay at this venue.
The external photos look great, a lovely georgian manor in a nice area. Don't be mislead... it is a decrepit dirty dated venue. Peeling wall paper, mould on the ceiling, filthy shower, dust and grime on every flat surface. The place is so dodgy My colleague barricaded herself in her room for fear of intrusions. The final straw was waking at night covered in bites. So no sleep. On talking to management the response was 'its not possible- we havent had bed bugs here for six years..! Appalling! Bed bugs fleas what ever it was terrible. We didnt stay for breakfast! Do what ever it takes NOT to stay here

We stayed here just for a day cause we had a late flight so we arrive at 11am and vacate the room at 8 pm ....we choose this hotel just because it was cheap and somehow close to downtown area and we needed a place to leave our luggage and take a shower before flight. We had room 17 on first floor and there is no elevator so we had to cary the luggage upstairs. The room has 3 beds one queen bed and 2 regular, it had a mini fridge a catle some coffee and tea also . The room was poorely maintained .. but my only problem is that the bathroom is not in the room. That was the only reason i book this because it was cheap and it had a bathroom . The bathroom is outside of the room although you have a key and u are the only one who can use it . When we came from downtown i ask if i can buy water and cofee and i was directed to the nearest 7/11....they do have a vending machine with water and juice . They call for a taxi for us.... the people working there were frendly when asked about directions . It's that kind a place were u go just if u look for a cheap place to stay for a day but not more .

Only $99 for an ensuite room near Epworth Private hospital for was exceptional value at the last minute. The breakfast which was included was great, sausages and eggs and pancakes cooked fresh while you wait. Toast cereal hot cold drinks yoghurt, pleasant staff. The only downfall was the dirty shower, wish l had brought thongs to to wear, it was black, also smelled a bit musty, but opened up the large window and turned on the air conditioner and it was fine. .Very old building, quite dated, redecorated in the 1980s l would say. Free internet, which worked well, bottom floor room 5. Overall good value.

Room Tip: Take a pair of thongs to wear in the shower, not clean, unfortunately, but excellent location to city and Epworth hospital.
