My daughter took me as my son lives in Peru and I love Peruvian food. We tried several dishes and the star was the alpaca croquette which I have never eaten in Peru. Then we had salmon ceviche with an orange dressing and that was very good. Chicharrones de pollo followed and then anticcuchos which I have bought on the street in Peru but these were elevated to gourmet standard. Finished with panacotta and we couldn't have eaten any more. We drank Quilmes beer which is Argentinian because I had visited the brewery there, although Cusquena which comes from Peru is just as nice.

Decided to go for the chef's selection fixed price option as this seemed good value and thought might be best to be guided by the experts. Was very happy with food and atmosphere. Probably would do our own selections next time as there was just too much food to get through, but a great introduction to the restaurant and cuisine. Favourite dish was probably the starter of LOCRO DE ZAPALLO – Pumpkin crisp with charred pumpkin, black garlic puree and crushed pumpkin seeds - devine.
We were sat next to the kitchen which was quite fascinating watching the chefs at work. Probably only criticism was getting a cold gust of wind everytime people entered or exited the restaurant. Melbourne -winter - need double door. Excelent service and nice to get top up of sparkling water through out the service.

Open style restaurant with emphasis on sharing each dish. Well presented and we had two small and two medium dishes plus a serve of broccolini, all good. Main style dishes are also available, including steaks. Good selection of both fish and meat dishes. The pisco sours were good if a bit expensive. There is a Peruvian emphasis. Service was excellent - German lass.

Dined at Pastuso with friends last night and we were really impressed with the food. We have eaten at San Telmo a number of times but hadn't tried Pastuso. We loved the more casual atmosphere and the food was just as good. The smoked lamb shoulder was absolutely melt in your mouth, Ceviche was excellent but for mine, the standout was the Alpaca croquette. Service was great, excellent wine list, we will be back!

One steak and fish skewers (tender and much enjoyed). One broccolini, crisp snow peas and green beans with a vinaigrette-style dressing (which complemented the steak). One roast pumpkin and celeriac purée (very nice). Two glasses of wine and one serving of pumpkin donuts with white chocolate cream. What started out as a quick drink after work turned into an enjoyable meal; and was sufficient to satisfy two not-particularly-hungry people.
Clean plates, cutlery and glassware. Linen napkins. Polite service. Open kitchen. The Private dining rooms looked comfortable and cosy. Well-stocked bar. Plenty of seating; including a bar area, and bar-style dining in front of the kitchen to watch the grill-chefs in action. Graphic street art in adjacent laneway. Pleasant lighting and ambience. Clean toilets.
