This began a new era for George Calombaris and cemented his place as a culinary star for his Modern Greek Cuisine - never seen before Melbourne; where modern twists to traditional Greek cuisine has put this restaurant on the global map and has diner's wanting more. The Press Club seats 38 guests in individual booths. Next door to The Press Club at 52 Flinders Street, is Press Club - Projects, George Calombaris' creative and development kitchen. This space can be booked privately for up to 8 guests and offers a completely interactive experience as the chefs experiment with new dishes to make the menu in The Press Club.

We visited on our 10th wedding anniversary, and it didn't disappoint. The place is like a 1950s Athens airport lounge. A little cramped, but the service was excellent and the food was unlike anything else, especially the first course, an Australian/Greek themed entree complete with a Hills Hoist!

We went last night for my birthday. We did the 8 course degustation with matching wines. The food was amazing, and unlike the other restaurants it was not loud at all. I would highly recommend this place for a special intimate dinner.

The house cocktail is a homemade liquor from the sap of a tree similar to a pine, served over a cardamom ice cube. The breads were donut holes and pitas, served with roe, feta and tomatillo spreads. The apps were octopus with a fava bean puree, and an egg and spinach salad. My main was risotto with mushrooms, pine nuts and cocoa. And the dessert was a chocolate cream covered in almonds and oats and green herbs, over a feta like ice cream. The textures of both were wonderful. An excellent lunch and descent deal at $45 US with a glass of Hellenic wine

Every thing was splendid.
Food was fab & interesting. While some Greek flavours and ideas were spread through the menu this is a modern Australian dining experience.
Staff accessible with great knowledge and smart service but relaxed.
It's a great vibe looking down at the kitchen whilst in the plush booths that feel almost night club ish..
Only one disappointment but small things matter when you are paying $150pp..
The hand cream in the bathroom was empty and the hand towels were few..
it's picky but hey.. it's a top to toe experience and everything counts.
Memorable, delicious & will return.

Stopped by for lunch course. One thing that stood out - the staff. Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. Great work!
Great food, decent portions, exciting menu at fair prices. Will definitely be back.
