A Portuguese friend was raving about Nata Portuguese Bakery, and since I always had a weak spot for pasteis de nata I just had to try it. So glad I did - amazing Portuguese tarts! Just like in Portugal. So no longer a need to get authentic tarts from Lisbon or Macau - you can get some right here in auckland.

Staff were super friendly. Tried some of the bread too and that was good but the pasteis de nata were definitely the standout. Definitely will be back. Yummy.

Such a pleasant morning cafe and bakery. Fresh Coconut rolls, Pastel de Nata : tender, flaky and sweet. The bakers smile, even to themselves, and should s they are getting people off to a good start. Breads look great- acquired a hand-held bread stuffed with tomato bd mozzarella for later.

A friend of mine is working there and she told us to eat at this amazing café. The bread is really good and nothing like the "common" New Zealand bread. But the sweet stuff is even better, for example the muffins and croissants are really good! I would recommend this bakery to everyone visiting Auckland!

Over the years, there have been some poor attempts at serving Aucklanders Pastel De Nata (Richmond Road Cafe, I'm looking at you) but we now have the real deal.

Light, crisp pastry and that perfect filling. Slightly salty when fresh out of the oven or grab a six pack to takeaway and enjoy cold for the next few days.

As others have noted, the front of house isn't Portuguese but after a quick chat to the Portuguese chef (Pedro), everything is made the traditional way - and tastes like it.

Great bread as well. All we need now are some Bifanas (pork rolls ala Café Beira Gare next to Rossio station), a bica of Delta coffee and we're back in Lisbon!

Great work, we’ll be back.

P.S. Although the address states Symonds Street, it's actually on K' Road (near the very end).

A lovely cafe that serves traditional Portuguese tarts. Being a regular visitor to Portugal, getting the pastry right to a Portuguese tart is an art, and Nata have nailed it. The shell is perfectly crispy with the spiral bottom, and the custard light and creamy. It was the perfect treat with my flat white but next time I shall order a bica with it and get my full Portuguese experience here in Auckland. Looking forward to returning!
