The room was very small for the price, and so was the bathroom. It is really well situated if you intend to use public transportation, but walking to city center is like 40 minutes... It is really an ok hotel, but it is just too expensive for what you get.

We had a two night stay after our arrival in Auckland. The Inn is well situated in the centre of Parnell, within walking distance of or a short bus ride from Auckland CBD. Parnell has lots of boutique shops, restaurants and bars, so there's no need to travel into the centre if you don't want to.

The room was pretty basic but extremely clean and had everything we needed. I managed to leave my jacket in the room upon check out and the management contacted me to let me know, which was very kind of them.

This is the restaurant review. Not the hotel.

Just don't eat there. Had a pizza - was sweet sticky topping on pita bread!!!! Yoghurt was runny and horrible.

Husband had burger and chips. Both terrible.

Never had such bad food.
There are many great restaurants there in the street.,

Let's start with the positives - great location and close to Vector Arena for our show. The food at the bistro was amazing as was the coffee.

Low points, we started getting texts at 5pm asking where we were and how long would we be, on arrival the price quoted on booking.com was not the price they wanted us to pay and there was an increase of $140. As I have used booking.com several times for my family I have always been charged as quoted but was told the rate was for two people only even though I had booked a family suite for 5 and listed the names and ages of the children as instructed on the booking form.
I had also requested twice to ensure there were 5 beds and when we arrived they didn't see this on the booking until I pointed it out and I had printed their confirmation of receiving this and that it could be done. So we didn't have the extra bed requested nor enough pillows, towels and cups etc so my children spent the first hour going up to reception to request more supplies.
The fridge freezer was dirty in the freezer compartment. The cups were stained, as was the extra mattress and the sheet that went onto it.
The shower had a broken handle on the door and the shower mixer nozzle kept falling off when trying to turn it on.
There was no air conditioning except for one small fan and power plugs were minimal. When using one of the plug sockets with the hair dryer the moving of the hairdryer caused the plug to fall out several times as it wouldn't hold the plug.
No sound proofing and you would hear everyone's conversations in other rooms.
The family space could do with an update, more natural light and air con in addition to being cleaned properly. It felt quite tired and dirty so we were not keen to eat or drink out of the cups/plates

It felt like a backpackers and we were hoping for a family friendly, cost effective, lovely clean space being in Parnell but this was not the case at all.
I would not recommend this to families.
Looking at other reviews upstairs rooms have been updated and are better for couples.

Probably the cheapest place we could find so total value for money. Staff friendly and accommodating. Unit basic. Advised that the fridge in our room wasn't working very well. Shower worked fine. Hot water and good pressure. Be nice if there was a fire alarm for piece of mind. Parking is a bit difficult but it is free and off street (thin space behind the building down a steep hill). Rooms were really hot but a fan was available and blinds helped to keep the sun out.
