We found this cafe by accident, just looking for somewhere for a light lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food on offer most of which has a British influence as it is run by Julie, from Britain originally, and her husband Joe, who doesn't come from Britain but from a small Pacific island. We both had the Ploughmans lunch, which was a modern interpretation of a British classic and it was really good especially the small slices of black pudding, something I never eat back in the UK but which was extremely savoury and without the large pieces of fat which is part of what normally puts me off. We washed this down with some excellent ginger beer. Julie and Joe were great hosts and spent quite a bit of time talking to us about the UK and our plans for the next fortnight on our first ever visit to New Zealand. If you are in the Parnell district of Auckland then do try this place out.
