I’m a business traveler and had booked a double superior room. The room didn’t even have a desk to work from. I did get another room when I complained but shouldn’t have needed to. The original room wasn’t anything like the images on the website. The shower cycled from warm to scolding hot every few seconds. The bed was so ridiculously hard and the extra blanket supplied (that was really needed as it’s an old cold hotel) was a single size for a king size bed. Reception was unmanned frequently during the day. I will never return here albeit I had high hopes that it would be a good choice given much of it has been renovated.
Excellent car parking however.

Room tip: Excellent free covered parking on a first in first serve basis.

For $160.00 a night I wasn't expecting a 5 star treatment- just somewhere clean and quiet to lay my head for the evening. Boy was I wrong. Cleanliness and quiet were no where to be seen for our nights stay.

Our first room stunk of cigarette smoke, so asked to change rooms (which wasn't a problem with staff). Second room there were stray hairs everywhere, mould in the shower, dirty handprints on the doors. Toilet button was broken/missing broken and shower head was also broken and spay everywhere but down. Was not clean in the slightest. People in the room next door were very noisy and kept us awake half of the night.

I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for accomodation.

Outdated, Unclean, Terrible customer Service. Lost our booking in the system but made us feel like it was out fault. Rooms were not fully cleaned, yes hair here n there and soap scum over shower glass, broken tiles, toilet was continously running and patch work holes in the walls which cn be seen! The apartments aren't fully stocked with basic needs to cook family meal in appartments and you carnt call reception for help because the phones do not work, the receptionist said they were being fixed but they didn't whole entire stay, so you have to walk all the way to reception to get towels as they put 2 towels in a sleep four apartment. The lady at reception needs help with at min very basic customer service everything!!!! The cleaner lady was lovely and the cafe down stairs was the bomb we wish this also filtered through to the rest of the motel!!! I carnt believe this is under Wyndham!!! If we were able to book a family of 12 in another hotel over the long weekend we would have!!!Will not take my family here EVER again.

Being more expensive than the Hilton in Taupo we expected a bit more. Lovely staff and great restaurant but the room was small and the bed even smaller. Six foot two plus wife does not fit on a double bed if you plan to have a good night's sleep. Lots of noise from outside air conditioning units and whatever else.
Lovely bedding and although some bits of carpet are getting tired everything looked and smelled clean.

Room tip: Lots of lovely restaurants in walking distance.

I'm so glad we're only here for one night. Lift is broken, room is horrible, ugly decor, bathroom is a broom closet it's so small with a big step into the shower but no railing. The bathroom door needs to go back to the 1960's (see photo).Non existent security, doors don't have locks and you can hear other doors slamming all down the prison-like hallways. Rowdy guests started yelling and bumping into the doors and walls for the last hour, called reception and initally told there's nothing they can do about the disruptive guests despite it being part of their code of conduct but they offered to move US at 10pm after we unpacked hours before these drunk idiots arrived? Second time we called someone was apparently sorting them out but nothing much has changed. The reception area is minimal, bit of a maze to get from the carpark. First in first served for parking aswell but its free and secure which along with location of the hotel are really the only positives. Oh and the receptionist was lovely too (Maori male?) and the room is clean (if you can ignore the stained toilet and stray hairs around the bathroom). But I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Maybe only as a last resort.
