I came to New Plymouth to see the Pumas All Blacks match. The hotel was really very good and Lynne was such a great host. Everything so clean and nice. Excellent location. Very happy to stay at State Hotel!

Impressive from the time I walked through the entrance, the envelope in the front desk had the details and access cards. No forms to fill!!! and no queues. The room was very well presented, clean with all the amenities and serviced daily. Walking distance to heart of New Plymouth, close to some nice places to eat. Felt very private and cosy during our 4 day stay. What a place where you get complimentary bottled water and copy of the Herald. I have stayed in 5 star hotels where you got to pay for such things!!!!. The place was relatively quiet at night even though it was right above a pub/restaurant. Will recommend this for couples wanting a bit of time out and of course ideal for business travellers.

Oh it's lovely! The decor is very tasteful and stylish, the room, though small was ideal for an overnighter for one person. Spotlessly clean and there's pretty much everything a modern traveller needs. The location is ideal, close to the main centre of town and walking distance to a range of food options..... not to mention a restaurant downstairs called 'Joes Garage'

Recently renovated, modern, stylish and comfortable room with contemporary furnishings and artworks. Small room but well appointed with all the standard amenities to make the stay pleasurable. Comfortable bed and good heating/aircon options. Sky TV in room. Bright and spacious bathroom.

Room Tip: Room overlooked the main street of New Plymouth, and there was quite a bit of late night noise from dragsters on the main street.

Clean & well presented, the room and hotel makes you feel you're not just in another hotel - eclectic art and displays throughout, while maintaining a contemporary look. Checking in late was facilitated via a virtual front desk - super easy. Great location on Devon Street in the center of town, and with plenty of options to dine-out in the immediate vicinity.
