I used to go to this place because there was something that reminded me a bit of Turkey. The way the meat was seasoned, the bread, the dips around your dish and even the decor with typical music made this place one of the few with Kilim in Petone where you can enjoy decent turkish food.
This is no longer the case.
I don't know if the owner (who was turkish) sold or stepped back from this place but the meal my partner and I had for lunch this sunday and last month was terrible and definitly overpriced. We choose the mixed grill wich consist of 3 pieces : unseasoned lamb skewers, two pieces of rubber -one chicken one beef sirloin 5mm thick- topped with bbq sauce and yogurt. Some rice and salad mixed with industrial olives and marinated capsicum like you would have in Pita Pit. One dip on the side a hummus that didn't taste like homemade. Oh and a piece of bread, they did keep that one.
Two meals, one drink, 54$. You cannot price such average food like this when you can get a similar ''iskender'' or ''kebab on rice'' anywhere for 15$.
Overall if you consider any random kebab place turkish you can go there, but if you have ever been to Turkey or a proper turkish restaurant, don't even consider going near this place please.
