This was my third visit for afternoon tea and we were so disappointed. The staff, as always, were lovely, but the restaurant appear to have cut back considerably on costs, to the detriment of the whole experience. No longer are there beautiful tablecloths. No longer a teapot each of your tea of choice and 2 platters of cakes and savouries between 5 people. Your teacup is filled twice with your chosen tea.
Will not go back. Very sad, as it used to be such a treat.

The amazing art installatios makes this hotel unique -a visual treat. Excellent rooms, gym,spa and pool. Even on a wet winery day with scaffolding this hotel shines. Visited both hotel bars and restaurants which were both excellent

This hotel has a lot going for it. The decor is so different to most hotels with fabulous works of art are on display in all the public areas. The location is great, just across the road from Te Papa and surrounded by restaurants and bars. Our room was large and well appointed.

This was a fabulous hotel
We were given an upgrade on our room on checking in, what a very nice surprise.
All staff were wonderful.
There art works throughout the hotel are very quirky.
The rooms SOOOO comfortable. The bathrooms lovely, the only negative in the bathroom was the absents of a soap/shampoo shelf in the shower, your only option is to leave it on the floor.
There is also reno scaffolding on the exterior, but we understand improvements.
Thankyou for making my partners birthday one to remember.

We were greeted warmly by Lenny at reception and told we'd received an upgrade. What a nice surprise. Our room was cozy and tastefully decorated. Bathroom fitted with a tub and a shower featuring two kinds of shower-heads. We used the lap pool and jacuzzi, both refreshing. Had a scrumptious dinner at Hippopotamus and well looked after by Bailey Ann and the sommelier. This was a lovely "staycation" for us and we highly recommend it to those seeking accommodation in Wellington.
