A re-routed cruise ship (because of a tropical cyclone) meant a very fast decision to disembark in a different city here in New Zealand. Christchurch actually works better for me than Auckland, but I still had to make quick q decision about where to stay for the night. No debate whatsoever - I made the absolute right choice. A wonderful hotel, on the airport - brilliant accommodation, great food and convenience (a very short walk to CHC's domestic departures). The room had absoutely everything I needed and is very cleverly designed. Room service dinner? brilliant. Just a very few niggles: (1) The great flat screen TV is mounted immediately above the desk, so for those of us who keep the TV on whilst working, a little of bit of vision re-focusing needed. But seriously - it is much too close. (2) the shower water could have been much hotter, but it was ok. (3) the rain water shower head was parked far too high for me, so I couldn't reach it to use it. And (4) - a huge plea to the hotel industry as a whole - please provide shower/bath mats where the shower floors are slippery - especially for older/less stable guests.
