This is a fabulous place for families of young children. Its a hands on type of place where the little ones can touch and feed the animals.

We purchased an annual pass as this is an experience which you can do time and time again. It's a great adventure for children and also adults. There are so many different elements to explore!

Always love coming here, suitable for all ages. One of the staff working at the entrance was rude and otter enclosure needed a spruce up. Apart from that, was great.

We loved this wildlife reserve. New Zealand animals in a beautiful setting, with a few other animals to add to the collection. The Kiwi House was superb, the Kea's were adorable, the farm collection extensive and most of the animals were eager to relieve us of the food we had bought on the way in.

What makes Willowbank Wildlife Reserve really stand out is how interactive it is. My most memorable moments were hand-feeding eels, an emu (that let me pet its neck!), an enormous pig, and a dozen very eager deer. It's a lovely way to spend a half-day and I would highly recommend it for families or animal lovers visiting Christchurch.

The only disappointment was that the shy kiwis were a bit hard to see in the nocturnal house - we could hear them rustling and running around, but it was difficult to make out more than dark shapes at best.

Overall a great experience - by far my favorite in Christchurch.
