One issue started as soon as we arrived. Friday night drinks can get noisy and the acoustics here aren't great with a lot of hard surfaces. It did quieten down a bit when the drinkers left leaving the diners.

But the night was totally redeemed by good food and great staff.
The staff are wonderful - knowledgeable, friendly and caring.
My 1st glass of wine was dull. The waiter agreed that it wasn't up to par and replaced it (after I had finished it) no questions asked and with apologies. Many places wouldn't have handled it so well.

The venison was perfectly cooked and presented but some may need a side of veggies to supplement the beans it comes with. But it was oh so nice.

I liked the dessert but the churros chocolate and orange sauce would have been better with dark rather than milk chocolate - it tasted a bit orange peely.

Overall it was a good night with good company, good food and good staff.

Thank Wayne K

We eat regularly at Cortadoes. It has never disappointed us with friendly staff and a great varied menu. The place just has a welcoming atmosphere with a selection of seating from booths to table and chairs and bar stools. We love ordering tapa's or occasionally will have a pizza, tonight Hubby tried the beef cheeks which he said melted in the mouth. I had the salmon on cauliflower couscous very generous portion and beautifully cooked.I personally think Cortadoes charm though comes mainly from the staff, so friendly and personable , a credit to the restaurant. We will be back of course!

We met a friend here for a drink last week and stayed for tapas that turned into dinner. The excellent happy hour drink specials helped induce us to stay! Very nice! We live nearby so have eaten here before. The bartender/manager is friendly and helpful. Several of the tapas are excellent -- especially the salmon and prawns. The vegetarian ones though are more heavy and less tasty, a bit omelet-like. The pizza bread is very good, and the actual pizzas (which we've had in the past) are also nicely done. The crust is thin and slightly oily/gooey, which brings to my mind Italy, well, actually Little Italy in New York, at any rate, yummy. Very nice wine selection.

We visited Cortado after an early rugby game and was very happy with our choice of restaurants. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we were seated in a very comfy booth. The staff had a good knowledge of their wine list and helped recommend a Terrace Edge Riesling which complemented our meals perfectly. The food was presented nicly and tasted even better. The portions are a good size and we manged to squeeze in three courses. Buttermilk Crispy Chicken entrée a winner, as was Pork Belly main. For dessert I had the Churros wich came with three dipping sauces - divine!
