As many reviews indicated and it is very true, the breakfast is a meal in itself and can really last you through to dinner ! I enjoyed Mary's lovely scones and her helpful tips on cooking! Love the bacon and the other dishes she prepared. The Lauralie suite was a 2 bedroom and even though there was one heating unit, it was enough heating for the rooms in winter ( bearing in mind I am from the tropical heat of SE Asia) . Beds were very comfortable and warm with the electric blankets. I like the fact that Mary preferred guests to take shoes off in the rooms as that assured me the rooms were very clean and my son can just roll around. Wi fi was complimentary and good connection throughout our stay. The drive there is quite an adventure and my husband enjoyed the very curvy roads just by the sea to the Otago peninsula . Take Patrick's advice on the alternative scenic routes as it is definitely amazing! A less than 5 min walk to the local hotel pub for dinners was definitely very convenient! It was lovely to meet Mary's family as we had dinner one night at their place.
