With limited time available (going to the movies) a quick bite to eat was in order and around the corner from the movie theatre is Devil Burger. It’s a new concept to me – being from the North Island and have not come across this brand before. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and informative as soon as I walked in the door. Not sure why but have found this is quite common in Invercargill from my experiences to date with everywhere I go (restaurants and cafes, hotel).
Felt so comfortable I suggested to the waitress that I would just have the burger most customers go for – along with a beer. It happened to also coincide with $10 Burger Tuesday on a huge range of burger choices, (the movie was only $10 as well).
It is a busy place and fully understand why with prices so low (that particular evening) and exceptionally great flavoured, well-cooked choice of ingredients in the burgers resulting in a tasty delight. Yes the burger is up there, well above the norm and well below the competition charging $20 to $25 for a similar burger. I’m hooked and want a Devil Burger outlet in Wellington (home town) where this place would do exceedingly well. There is ‘proper coffee’ to follow and that did not disappoint either.
