Our room was perfect, with a view over the city. Well appointed, lots of glass and metal. Posh and comfortable. Staff was excellent. Just what you would expect at a five star hotel. Even impressed with the exercise facility. Maybe it was special mirrors that made me look thinner.

Room Tip: Enjoyed our view of the city and the surrounding mountains

With a couple exceptions, this was a great stay. Spent three nights. Pros: location, lovely room with a TV viewable from the jacuzzi. Great tea choices in room. Nice turndown service with a chocolate. Spa service (facial) was fabulous. Go to Marie. She is the greatest! Cons: Sink was quite quirky. Did not like the faucet. A bit of spotty service in the 1789 bar. Also, it seems strange to have to request bath salts when there is a big, beautiful jacuzzi. However, they were provided promptly, and cheerfully.
Room service (wine) was prompt and a great value. Fitness Center was adequate. Nothing special. Breakfast and Jervois Steakhouse were quite good. Quite a mess when water service was lost my last morning. Staff was very apologetic, and provided bottled water for a "bird bath" in the sink. Unfortunate, but these things do happen. Overall, I would definitely return.

We have stayed many times in Queenstown, but never at the Sofitel. It is a brilliant location, and a lovely hotel. Well appointed, and we loved the coffee machine in the room.It was clean and well maintained, but the stand out were the staff. Without exception every staff member we met was pleasant, professional, and could not do enough to help you. I would recommend staying at the Sofitel, and will do so again ourselves.

Great stay. Handy location and the staff were very friendly. Couldn't ask for me and the concierge called Tom was very welcoming. Beds are a dream. The wine list in 1759 in site bar was varied and staff were very helpful. Thanks for a great stay.

Room Tip: higher rooms are best option
