We have stayed here regularly and the best thing (besides the View) is the Breakfast Room. To come into the room and be able to sit down with other guests and enjoy a freshly cooked hot breakfast, make some fresh toast and talk to other guests make this place friendly and inviting. Can't wait to stay again.

Thank you Val for the lovely review. Julie (the breakfast attendant) cooks a pretty awesome hot breakfast!

As part of our trip to SA, my partner booked a spa room with a view and even organised a bottle of champagne on arrival. The room was lovely - clean, modern and obviously newly renovated (just watch the water on the floor post-shower as it isn't able to get away easily. The service offered on check-in was helpful and we were able to access our room early which was a bonus. Such was our experience that first night, we booked in for our last night in town. What a let down! Firstly the service at reception was pretty lacklustre compared to our first arrival. The guy working looked a bit frazzled and the person responsible for cleaning the rooms shrugged her shoulders and didn't even look up at us when the receptionist asked if the room was ready. His response of "it should be right" was no less encouraging (this time we weren't early!). When we got to our room, the door wasn't painted and a big sign told us "Not to enter". Back I went downstairs and the receptionist came up, removed the sign, went into the room, came out and told us they had new curtains and had been oxidising the room and to leave the doors to the balcony open for a little while. The room itself clearly hadn't had the same touches as the spa room and the chemical smell from this "oxidising" was awful. We should have done something there and then and I am sorry I didn't. But, on old mate's advice, we left the balcony doors and the bathroom window open and went out for the remainder of the day expecting the smell to have dissipated by the time we got back. However the chemical smell was no less when we returned later that night and the only way to sleep was to leave the doors wide open - street noise, planes and the smell made sleep difficult and we had a fairly early start the next day. I determined to mention the smell to the receptionist on checkout if they asked how we enjoyed our stay. She didn't though, so I didn't mention it - again, I should have. I would stay there again, but only in a spa room and only after asking a whole bunch of questions. That night and the lack of service ruined what would have been a really wonderful TripAdvisor review.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and I’m glad you enjoyed your original stay. I apologise that you felt your second stay was not up to the standard of your first. I admit we were caught unprepared this time as you arrived prior to your communicated ETA. We were in the process of treating your room with ozone to remove any odour from the new curtains. Ozone, (O3), sometimes called "activated oxygen", contains three atoms of oxygen rather than the two atoms we normally breathe. It is not a chemical. The process works by adding an electrical charge to oxygen which converts it to ozone. The extra ozone atom kills off any odour, leaving nothing but pure oxygen behind. We are so used to having a combination of different smells in the air that the air left behind from the ozone process can smell a bit “funny”. If you had asked for a different room at the time we would have be more than happy to move you. Please contact us direct if you come and stay with us again and I will ensure you are looked after.

This was a last minute booking for us, and since Adelaide was busy with Clipsal 500 and Festivals it was more expensive than usual, but still reasonably priced. Staff at reception were very helpful, although their front door is a little tricky. We found it hard to open, initially thinking it was locked, but apparently it's always like that and needs a bit of brute force. Reception is only staffed until 10pm, they have a car park adjoining it which usually has to be paid for via ticket machine, but our parking was included in our hotel cost. The hotel is a little worn and old but the 9th floor is being refurbished. Breakfast was also included in our price, which was a simple continental style of Cereal, toast, juice, coffee and tea, with a nice view of Glenelg. The cereal is just in a large bowl with a spoon for people to help themselves, not a hygienic option. The milk and juice are in jugs sitting on the bench, again not the best option. The room was large, with large windows with a city view, and small balcony, no safe in the room. Good air conditioning which was needed as a very hot weekend when we were there. The bathroom has been refurbished and was quite nice, but again the shampoos etc... were in a large dispenser rather than individual bottles. The hotel is close to everything, a short walk to the Glenelg beach and pier, as well as the shops, cafes and bars. It is nothing fancy but quite good for the location and a budget stay. We would stay here again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave some feedback. Reviews are our best resource for pinpointing what we’re doing well and where we need to focus our attention in future. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Apologies for the front door, it can be a bit heavy. I plan to remove the old handle to eliminate confusion over the door being locked and hope to get the door replaced in due course with an automatic one.

All of the rooms in the hotel have been fully refurbished in the last few years with continual room upgrades taking place. The public areas are due for an upgrade and we have plans to tackle that in the coming months.

We are also in the process of creating a brand new breakfast experience and are excited to see that roll out once completed.

Loved the location....close to Jetty Road, tram and beach. Had a last minute booking and stayed on 1st floor....great to have free parking close by and free Wi-Fi.
Very comfortable bed and loved the shower. Breakfast was available on 9th floor but did not utilise.
Would definitely stay again.

All staff were great. We arrived early so they looked after our bags and sent us a personalised text when our room was ready. And the room was like no other! Mood lighting, spa bath and great tech setup!

Thank you for the fantastic review. We spent a lot of time designing the Premium Spa rooms to provide the best guest experience – right down to little things like being able to see and hear the TV from the spa or being able to plug your phone in to play music!
