This is a pleasant lake near the town area. On the day that we went, it was extremely cold, with very strong winds, so we didn't stay very long. But I'm sure that it would be nice for a picnic when the weather is good.

We spent some time walking around Lake Wendouree. It was very pleasant watching the bird life and the housing around the lake. The Olympic Monument near the site of the rowing was extremely interesting.

Great place for a picnic, walk, jog or explore. Plenty to see and do. Met up for a lunch at The Lakes hotel or Boatshed. You can drive right around the lake. Stop off at the Botanical gardens. Enjoy a Mulled wine at Pipers.

The bird life and adjacent Botanical Gardens make this a gem of a place even in winter. The improvements since 2004 are really effective and make it a great place to visit.

The black swans and ducklings are entertaining to watch their antics both in and out of the water. There are a couple of eateries and a pub and the Boatshed restaurant is situated on the foreshore of the lake.

Very easy walk to do around the lake. You can see the wildlife in the water and lovely things along the way to see. There are public toilets along the way as well
