Noah's Ark is a really fun place. I have been staying there for many years. In fact, I have stayed in many of the backpackers hostels in Greymouth and this one is my hostel of choice. The management is informed and very friendly. They have formed a team of employees who keep the place ship-shape in Bristol fashion. The man and woman owners are live on the premise people who are wonderfully friendly and well informed about their area. The animal room themes are fun to see. They are a short trip away from a large market. The kitchen facilities are large and fun to use with others. Greymouth is a small town that you can easily walk around. Give yourself several days because it's a lovely place.

Room Tip: I would recommend booking ahead for a bed or a room as there are lots of visitors who want to stay in Noah's Ark Hostel. It is not a hotel.

This hostel is great and the workers are really friendly. It has a nice and warm vibe, with a large, clean kitchen and nice dining areas, both inside and outside. The rooms and bathrooms were clean as well. The animals on the walls make for a nice atmosphere and Cosmo the dog was great company to have during my stay =)

Love the animal theme and the wallpaper..They have different animal theme for each room eg: kiwi, sheep, cow and etc. Each room is decorated based on the theme. We are assigned to tiger room. The kitchen and the TV lounge is clean and comfort. Highly recommended

Private room was clean and a good size. Clean kitchen and nice comfy TV lounge with separate dining lounge which has lots of books, board games, piano and couple guitars. Lovely owner. Bathrooms were not great. Shower curtain was mouldy and felt rather unclean. Poor mattress on bed, left with a bad back the next day.

It’s the people that make this place special. The couple that run/own this place are a delight. They are fun, interesting and helpful. Be careful, you could spend your time chatting for ages (but that’s not a bad thing).
This is contagious and before you know it, other people are talking to each other (and not with their nose in their smart phone).

The hostel has a well drilled cleaning pattern, that is thorough and good to see.
The place is very clean.
The kitchen is large and has enough space for all the guests: lots of storage; 2 sinks; 8 cooking rings and well equipped.

Nice place to relax, in the evening, and if you’re lucky someone my pick up one of the many guitars and play (if you are really luck it will be the male host).

I liked this hostel and put it in my top 5.

There are a lot more on offer than listed above.
